Standalone Editor for FHM 3?

Since I read Sebastian saying this:

I was wondering, if there's a chance that we see the standalone editor for FHM 3. I'm sure that it would make editing a lot quicker and easier. I'm very excited for the game, the screens look very promising!

If not officially, I wonder if it could be done as a third party mod/application?

Probably not, whoever did the editor would need the exact file layout, which obviously is confidential

So, is there a chance for an official version?

Edit: How many roster updates can we expect and is it possible through to download community created rosters through Steam Workshop?

A very, very longterm project is to release an standalone editor but the first priority is to make the game great.

I know and that's totally understandable. But since I'm a hardcore realism-guy, I just wanna know how easy it is to update rosters or how easy it is for the community to share their creations. Can you say us somehting about this? And how many rosters updates are you guys planning after release? Thanks and keep it up, I'm a fan since FHM 1

Sorry for being a little bit of a pest, but I really would like to know these two questions before release:

1. How many roster updates are planned by the development team after release?
2. Will it be possible to share user created rosters through Steam Workshop (pretty much like EHM does this, maybe one day we'll see a roster file from the team of The Blueline forums? That would be a big chance for this game if you ask me!)

Thanks

This year we will concentrate on doing work on the database itself (e.g. adding history) and not put our limited resources in updated rosters. That might change when we e.g. get more help but with the game always starting before the season most people want opening night rosters anyway.

Thanks for your answer Sebastian, I can understand that. Is roster sharing possible though? If not, will this be implemented in the near future?

Editing in NHL mode

Can OOTP confirm that players and teams can still be edited in regular NHL mode while in commissioner status? If so, it isn't entirely clear what a standalone editor adds to what is already available (in FHM 2 for example). If the possibility of editing players and teams in NHL mode has been eliminated in FHM3 I would certainly like to know as that would eliminate this game for me.

You can still edit the players and team in Sandbox mode (basically the same as the old FHM2 normal game) just like in FHM2.

It's not possible to edit teams and players in the new "Road to Glory Mode" though.

Thanks for clarifying this so quickly. I won't have any interest in the Road to Glory mode if no editing is possible, but am pleased that the Sandbox mode still allows this. Do we get the real NHL (current players and teams) as one of our league choices in Sandbox mode? If so, it doesn't make a lot of sense that we can edit the NHL players and teams in Sandbox but not in Road to Glory mode, but nevermind, as long as one of these modes allows it.

I hope your FHM3 release goes well.

I started a modern NHL game in Sandbox mode and didn't see where it was available for editing so I started up a Fictional NHL/AHL/EHL.

I wanted the NHL teams to remain intact but don't know if that's possible in Custom mode.

Yes, you can play with real NHL players past or present (as well as present international leagues as well) in Sandbox mode.

Path to Glory is simply meant to be a different sort of game experience. It's surely not for everyone, but that's why we've retained the old functionality in Sandbox mode.

Thanks for your kind words as well.

You have to go to your manager profile and check the 'Play in Commissioner' mode button before you can edit anything.

I looked for it and couldn't find it. It's been awhile since I played FHM2.

I could always go back and start over since I haven't played any games.

Is there a way in custom mode to keep the NHL teams players together on their original teams?

It should be there. Just click on manager then manager options and it's a checkbox about halfway down on the left.

As far as not starting with a draft in custom mode, I'm not sure. It would be a good option to have.

I just tried it myself and didn't see any option to avoid an initial draft. Hopefully one of the devs can answer for sure though.

Just uncheck the "Use Initial Draft" option on the first screen of the fictional game dialog.
