1929 Philadelphia Athletics

To whom it may concern,

This isn't technically a bug per se, but I wanted to mention it regardless.

In historical simulations involving the 1929 Athletics, but without historical lineups, the AI screws up their depth chart.

What should be happening is Jimmie Foxx should be at first (since that's where he was historically) and Mickey Cochrane should be at catcher.

Instead, the AI is putting Foxx at catcher (he has pretty good defensive ratings despite not being listed as playing any catcher on baseball-reference). Cochrane is put on the bench and some no-account with much worse batting ratings than Cochrane is being put at first.

It's not that the AI isn't doing what was historically accurate; it's that the AI is configuring the A's depth chart in a way that probably costs them 4 wins over a season.

It's using the sabrmetric lineup strategy, fwiw.

Thanks,

Sansterre

I'd bet he's the best option at Catcher? How about deleting his ratings behind the plate for a quick fix?
