164 Games?
Just finished my first season. Standard 2014 game in MLB, and at the end of September I have two random games in October against two different teams. As for the league, some teams now have 163 games. Others have 164. It's really weird. I'm new to the game and I'm sure it's something I probably screwed up, but could anyone shed some light on how to fix that?

are you sure these aren't tiebreaker games?

Yeah, my team was nowhere near playoff contention so I don't think they were tiebreakers.

Yeah, I'm going to bet on tie breakers as well. I posted about this last week. When more than 2 teams tie for a playoff spot, it gets really wonky.

The guy said his team was not in contention. They were not tie breaker games.

This sort of thing can happen when the All-Star Game doesn't end up on the date it should for whatever reason. Check to see if when your All-Star Game was and if any clubs ended up playing games that day.

Wait, two games against two random teams...
If you're in the AL East, I think we've found the problem. The game might be treating the 2013 wild card game as a regular season game, and because the Rays and Rangers ended tied for WC#2 in 2013... |

That would only be true for the as played schedules, not the as scheduled schedules. Plus it would still leave one game unaccounted for.

Use the schedule evaluator with about a week too go in the regular season. If teams are playing more than 162 games, you can delete the extra games so they don't get played. When deleting a game ,make sure that the other team has a replacement game so it has finished with 162 games.
I mess with the regular season so much that this is a great backup plan should you feel that teams might play more than the normal amount of games. |

I had the same thing. Using MLB All In One Mod, playing as Cardinals. Brewers and Cubs played like 2 games after end of season and both were bottom of AL Central (out of contention, no wildcard tiebreaker) so they ended up with 164 games played. After they finished their series on October 5th or whenever the game started the playoffs. I don't really care but it was weird to see.

The game has tiebreaker bugs though.
I've seen teams not in contention, ie eliminated from the playoffs, end up playing extra games even though they should not have been involved in the tiebreaker process. ie.. the game is scheduling extra games not needed Last edited by Khan; 05-07-2014 at 08:35 PM. |

This sounds like the issue....anyone have a fix that I can use? Where can I find this "schedule evaluator"? I've never edited this before. Thanks!

I am looking into this.
God I hate the playoff code... this stuff is so complicated and prone to bugs, I swear I'll never touch it again once this issue is sorted. |

I'm not too crazy about the (one game) wild-card game. Is there a way too delete it ?

League setup -> playoff option. Disable the custom playoffs there. Need to do it prior to the end of the regular season.

As an amateur programmer, I try to use refactoring. But you have to see my "Basketball 1-on-1" in the "Talk about sport". The code was so ugly I abandoned the program (and only later I learned about OOP). If you won't kill the bugs, they will kill you.
