Online leagues would not be a pain. This is an option to set it to zero, it does not mean online leagues would have to use it.

The reserve roster requirement is a strange one. I also would like to be able to set this lower than 15. I have had situations where some teams are maxing out this 15 player reserve roster while other teams don't have enough players to actually play a game (requiring me to generate new players on opening day just so they can play their first game). There is generally no real need to have more than 3 players in reserve at any given time (for humans, at least), so the 15 player minimum must be required to help the AI in some way.
