The Top 25 TBCB Universe's

As CONN CHRIS has mentioned the basement up in my Top 75 Dynasties of 2006 thread up in the Dynasty forum, I figured it was about time you guys got some love. So I've got a countdown for you all as well.

I decided to keep the two seperate as I know that many of you like the atmosphere down here and might be hesitant to comment if I threw it in my other thread. Plus there are baseball fans up there and this might get lost in that thread. Basically, this one is for you.

I'm not going to do super-detailed summaries as I honestly don't have that much time to read all of these, but I'll try to throw in my

every once in a while. Really, this thread if for you guys. You can do with it how you like. Also, it's just numbers and isn't indicative of the quality of the thread. It's just how the numbers came out.

One other note for those of you who care. I used the same formula that I did with the dynasty threads. However, the formula that I use is based on the comparison with other threads like it. So I honestly can't compare these with the ones in the dynasty forum the way it is set up right now.

As a non-TBCB Inside the Ropes regular, I can't say that I read a lot of these threads. But when I do check out the occasional thread down here, its nice to be able to jump into them.

It's so easy to jump into threads when there is a summary of the backstory as opposed to when there isn't. That's huge if you don't want to read the whole thread. Brooks does this, so at least at the end of the thread, it was very easy to slide into the universe.

I miss Brooks, it's been a long time since he was here regularly. He had issues with an ISP and a lay-off / job change. I hope he comes back one day.

If this countdown is like the one Yoda does in the OOTP section, it will only include universes that were started during 2006, so the ones started in December 2005 and before won't be on the list. Still, it will be interesting to see what he comes up with.

So mine that started in April of 2004 won't be on the list then!

H.O.B.O was started on December 6th, 2005 so it shouldn't be on the list if it's only for ones started in 2006. Plus, have we had 25 new universes started here since 2006. I think it's just a all time countdown since there's no year attached to the title either.

Just for clarification. This list is the top 25 threads that were active in 2006, regardless of when they were started.

It worked out well that in the top 25, there were 10 threads that were started Dec '05 - Nov '06. Anything that began after November 30, 2006 wasn't considered (I'm fairly certain).

I don't know about any of you, but a fun thing for me about boxing is figuring out the lineage of titles. When I was poking around the boxing world a month or so ago, it was pretty interesting seeing who won what belts and where they went after that. I particularly liked a video that I saw on youtube following the heavyweight title [Link].

This is the first thing that I noticed when I looked at this one. It summarized what went on and I felt more up to date. The Universe really starts in 1906 and continues for 10 years.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to read this entire thread. It looks like a decent read. I love the summaries, but there is just too much here for me to really take an in-depth look at.

It's a pretty complicated set of rules for the Universe, something which I dig as it adds a little bit more realism (potentially). But that's me, very left brained.

Both of Matt's universes, the UoLBA and PBF, were great. It sucked to see them die but I'm looking forward to when he gets another started up.

This one is just a conversation about various upsets that people have had in their universe's. It's an interesting read if you dig short summaries. It's like reading 15-20 mini-mini dynasties.

Not exactly a Universe, but no matter. You should check it out.
