Question about historical managers and coaches

Is there anyway to make sure that all managers are only historical ones or at least are real players from the league? I keep getting fictional managers added to the game.

Also, if a manager is a player manager, will he be tied to himself as a player (i.e. not managing for one team while playing for another)?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

No to both. You can always manually delete new MGRS at the start of each offseason which is what I try to do. Eventually you will have more real guys as MGRS vs fictional. I have 4 player-managers on my 1871 team, none of which manged that team ever. As far as staright sim i have seen Harry wright get traded for multiple times and only while with teh Reds was he plr/mgr
