In the bottom of the seventh, a single extended McInnis hit streak to 16 games and was the 40th hit allowed this season by Cullop. The Athletics would load the bases with two out but Myers flew out to left to end the inning. In the top of the ninth, Pipp hit a two out double. It was the 20th hit of the season for Pipp and the 40th allowed by Myers. An intentional walk later and Nunamaker broke the scoreless tie with a two run triple.
