MLB Setup / 30 Teams / 43 Games

Anyone able to help?

MLB Setup

2 leagues
3 divisions per league
5 teams per divison

Playing other league: 15 x 1 = 15 games
Playing own league: 14 x 2 = 28 games

Total of 43 games

That should be doable. Some questions...

How would you want the games set across the calendar? In other words, how long should the season be? I assume 43 weeks is way too long, so not one game per team per week. But I figure you do not want games almost every day.

If it is something like 2 or 3 games per week, do you want everybody all playing on the same day, or would you want games scattered about so somebody is playing every day?

All-Star break? If so, how far into the season?

Many thanks.

I think about 5 games per week would be fine.
An All Star game after about 2/3 of the season makes sense.
Not every team has to play at the same day, but thats not very important.

I have something pretty much matching this, 43 games across 63 days (9 weeks) with an All-Star break after 6 weeks. But I forgot an important detail - when on the calendar should it begin?

Two versions to give each league the extra home games in one of the cases. The two are the same just with the leagues flipped.

Code:
#
# 30 team schedule, 43 games
# Designed for the following configuration:
# 2 subleagues, each with 3 divisions of 5 teams
#
#
# 2 games against 14 other teams in division subleague (1H/1A)
# 1 game against 15 teams in other division (1H or 1A)
#
# set as balanced schedule
#
# In version 1:
# First subleague teams all have one more home game than away game
# Second subleague teams all have one less home game than away game
# In version 2:
# First subleague teams all have one less home game than away game
# Second subleague teams all have one more home game than away game
#
# All games are in single-game series
# Each team plays each week:
# One game either Mon or Tue
# One game either Wed or Thu
# One game on each of Fri, Sat, and Sun
#
# Teams play no more than 4 consecutive games home or away
#
# All game times set at 7:05pm
#
# Season begins first Monday of April
# Season ends early June
# Season spans 63 days
#
# All-Star Game in mid-May after about 2/3rds of season completed
#
# Built 2019-04-09
