How do you feel about my MLB realignment?

I'm not a traditionalist when it comes to baseball, and i've thought the way the divisions are set up are a bit weird so i decided to change some things around and make it that teams in the same division are all close to each other geographically. I like this lay out better.

Looks pretty good and logical. MLB will never implement it. The poor Brewers can't remember what league they are in.

The things I don't like:
-Texas/Houston being in the same division as Seattle
-AL North/NL Central still overlapping each other

But with the current MLB setup, I don't think there's any real way around that. If you don't put the California teams with Seattle, then their closest neighbours are Colorado, Phoenix, and then probably Minny and KC.

Pittsburgh probably belongs more with the Great Lakes teams than they do with Philly/NY, but given that there are 6 north-east Atlantic teams, and 3 southeastern teams, someone needs to add to them.

You could try to split them up more. The Southern division becomes Texas/Houston/Atl/Mia/TB, so maybe you give Minny/KC to Seattle's division. Then you get CHC/CWS/MIL/STL/CIN to a true Central division, and then you have to figure out how to split up the northeast. Could do Det/Cle/Pit/Was/Bal - Tor/Bos/NYY/NYM/Phi, or maybe Det/Cle/Pit/Tor/Bos, leaving the NY-Was corridor their own division. Although both options break up either Bos/NY or Pit/Phi, but not really a way around that given the other moves.

So many options...

Wish PIT was in with the Ohio and Toronto teams. Some of the teams in the west make it really hard to align.

The only reason i put Pittsburgh where they are is so they can have a rivalry with Philadelphia. Battle of Pennsylvania

I do like the Texas/Houston/Atl/Mia/TB idea, i think i might go with that, in which case Seattle,Minny and KC would be in the same division i like that as well.

Here are the updated divisions. These look a bit better, thanks guys.

I'm more of an old school guy ... no matter who plays in which division I either like the East/Central/West divisions or something like Atlantic/Pacific or whatever division ... but not a mixture

Whatever you do, I think everyone would prefer a White Sox, Cubs, Cardinals, Brewers division.

If you were to expand to 32 and go 4 8-team divisions, I suggest, Minnesota, Milwaukee, both Chicago's, St Louis, KC, Cincy, and Detroit. You would get rivalries EVERYWHERE. (MIN-MIL, MIN-CHW, MIN-DET, MIL-STL, MIL-CHC, MIL-CHW, MIL-KC(super friendly "rivalry" because they're farm teams for each other), CHC-CHW, CHC-STL, STL-KC, KC-DET, CHW-DET)

Who are their rivals? I never really followed baseball too closely.

i like the regional stuff... not much you can do out west though depending on size of divisions. my plan for '19 is still as of yet executed, lol

i did similar things with 3 divisions, 10 teams. i like all the in-state/regional stuff being divisional.

If you don't mind a couple of 3 team divisions, with 8 divisions you start to get a lot more options geographically. A lot more options out east; but here's 1 scenario:

AL West: Seattle, Colorado, Oakland, San Fran
NL West: LA Dodgers, LA Angels, San Diego, Arizona
AL Central: Minnesota, Milwaukee, ChiSox, ChiCubs
NL Central: Kansas City, St Louis, Texas, Houston
AL East: Detroit, Cleveland, Toronto, Cinci
NL East: Pittsburgh, Philly, Baltimore, Washington
AL Atlantic: Boston, NY Yankees, NY Mets
NL Atlantic: Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Miami
