Spring Training Question

Does it benefit my young guys who I know won't make the team this year to have them play in spring training? or is it better to leave them where they are in double A?

For example I have a SS that is 1.5 stars right now but with a potential of 4.5 stars. Now I know he isn't gonna make the team this year but does it help any with development to have him in spring training?

It's not explicitly documented but I have done it for several hundred seasons over many versions and it sometimes works both ways. I sometimes get a minor league FA with an invite to ST to become a reasonable backup and/or become a trade chip mid-season. The development engine is there. It makes no sense not to use it.

Ok sounds good. Thanks for the help. Didn't even know about the invite to spring training thing. Its been a couple of years since I've played.

Just to be clear you sign a minor league FA and put him on the ST roster. That's the "invite".

Same here. I've had some (not great) success using this option with old players especially.
