Bakersfield will also have a new team in the next minor league under the American Baseball Federation starting with the 1878 season. This will work just fine for them, I think. Thank you. CD out.

I just wanted to say thanks for all your work on these parks. They're much appreciated by those of us who are SketchUp-deficient.

Quick note - thanks to pstrickert's help, the LMB, KBO, ABL, and CPBL stadiums are now in the steam workshop. I'll add links on the first page for them.

If it's not too much of a problem, could you please possibly include pictures that show the seating capacities for each park in their relevant posts, whether currently made or for future parks, nielsoncp? For those of us who may be wanting to have stadium capacities in various leagues that aren't too different from each other, it might be greatly appreciated by those who download these parks. I know I would greatly appreciate it, at least, if such information were visible in the relevant posts for these and/or future stadiums, anyway.
Thank you for your time and hard work and all. Please try to keep up the great work as best as you can, as often as you can, as the Lord then leads and inspires you and all, of course. CD out.

Hey CD - thanks for asking. Changing the size of the stadium doesn't actually impact that much - you could adjust all of them to your liking and it wouldn't have the same impact as, say, changing the walls. So I won't be including that information.

Albany, NY - Joseph L. Bruno Stadium
Next we go to Albany's Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. I based several features in this stadium from the Pre-Citizens Bank Park concept drawings in Philly - including the batters eye that reflects the state capital and the red brick building in left. There are also supposed to be "hedges" in center field, but, you know, the texture problem strikes again.
The park itself is pretty neutral. Zip File can be found here Park Factors Day Night Last edited by nielsoncp; 04-04-2020 at 02:47 PM. |

McAllen Texas - Security First Credit Union Park
When you go through the MSA list, you realize a couple of things:
1. There are a number of MSAS that are pretty spread out in terms of their population, where the largest city is 200,000 or less - and yet they have hundreds of thousands or millions in them. 2. There are a lot of half circle ballparks - and after a while, it becomes hard to be as creative with them. This stadium (based on the home park of the UT-RGV team) has a few elements of Dodgers Stadium, but otherwise fits with the generic mid-modern field shape that was predominent 1950-1990. The park itself is pretty big - 335 to the corners and 410 to center, so there will be lots of doubles and triples and depressed home run numbers. You have the Alexandria Possums logos present in a post you titled with Albany in New York mentioned. Which is it? Albany, New York, or Alexandria, Virginia? Just asking, that's all. If you're wanting to have the proper low-made logos for Albany, you may want to swap out the Possums things for the Chiefs, I believe. CD out.

New Haven, CT - Yale Field
Yale Field is a relatively special Baseball space. It's been in use since the 1920s, and hosted a meeting between Babe Ruth and then Yale Baseball Captain George HW Bush in 1948. With that in mind, I decided to give it a bit of a Wrigley esque feel, including the bleachers on surrounding businesses (also, I moved it to downtown New Haven. Sorry Yalies.) This was one of my favorites in this batch - I think the downtown setting gives it a cool feel.
The stadium itself is relatively small, but the big walls in the outfield help to keep the home run numbers down. Zip File can be found here Park Factors Day Night Last edited by nielsoncp; 04-04-2020 at 02:46 PM. |

Ok, I think I can do that, or at least try to remember to do so, anyway. CD out.

Do you know, and/or does anyone else know, of any free 3d modeling software that doesn't have any of its features inaccessible after a certain trial period that can be used to make parks, prior to getting OOTP 21? I still would love to see some new stadiums for any number of my teams, whether or not I can make them myself at some point, for sure. The program I tried was hard to understand and get into easily enough, to be honest.
My free trial period with Sketchup Maker, or whatever it's called, expired before I could really do much, if anything at all, with it, unfortunately. Plus it seemed to be rather complicated at that time, I think, come to think of it, when I was trying to work with it easily enough. Please advise. Thank you. CD out.

Oxnard/Thousand Oaks, CA - Sparky Anderson Field
Next up we have Sparky Anderson Field in Thousand Oaks (part of the Oxnard/Thousand Oaks/Simi Valley MSA.) I decided to keep a bit of an older school feel by putting the bullpens in the outfield, and the larger foul territory made it easy to do that. The park itself is pretty neutral, with lower power numbers but higher double/triple opportunities.

Allentown, PA - Coca-Cola Park
Allentown's stadium has a beautiful vista of the Appalachian mountains, so I decided to bring a bit of it into the batters eye. The park itself is pretty expansive, with a high wall in right and a deep wall in left. It's great for speedsters and death on power hitters.
