Negro Leaguers

Anyone running historicals with negro leaguers?

Slightly disappointed in two 8 team leagues through the 40s. Ratings based off of their careers. Oscar Charleston never gets called up to the majors, Satchel Paige never pitches an inning in the majors, Josh Gibson takes maybe 200 big league PAs, Cool Papa Bell never sees action.

Their ratings year to year are generally fringe players. Not seeing this with any regular MLers. Major Leaguers from the time all seem to be rated dead on where they'd fall and stats are playing out just as expected. It seems the Negro Leaguers are just vastly under performing and under rated.

To be clear: I'm running only MLB with historical players and historical minor players with negro leaguers coming in through the draft. They get selected fairly high then seem to tank immediately year over year.

Anyone else?

I find the Negro Leaguers in the Spritze Database to be very good actually. Oscar Charleston was on a HoF trajectory in one of my random debut games. Chino Smith had been a five-time All-Star I think.

adjust the make bad settings for pitchers and batters to near zero. the real negro leagues played very short seasons. the spritze db sorta has this built in but historical does not.
