Ways To Conserve Bandwidth...

Hey, I just started a new league, and luckily all the GMs are very active. However, the bad part about this, is we were, at one point eating through 10% of my bandwidth A DAY! I was wondering what methods or work-arounds there are out here, that helps cut back on bandwidth usage. I remember there was one where you just zipped up your reports, and then you somehow unzip it on your server, and that cuts back on the individual uploads, however I don't fully remember it or know how to do it. If anyone could post that method and any other methods to conserve bandwidth, I would greatly appreciate it, as I'm sure many others would too...

Do you include all players every time you upload? When I ran my league I only update players a few times per season as their are so many. I believe the uploading a zip file an unzipping is a way to help as well but I have never tried it myself. If your site has a lot of graphics you could make them a lower quality of image which would make them smaller. Hope all these little things help.

I am going to be blunt .. you have to many graphics.

Your site looks great but you are using graphic blocks to create it and a different one for each area. Eventhough they are almost identical in small cases. Instead of using maroon filler block just set the background to be marron. Every little graphic you put in your site will be downloaded to the GM browser possiblly as often as each request, depending on the cache setting.

Hope this helps. If you want to keep the same type of layout try using a standard block so instead of images/bat_012.jpg 014/016. Use one standard one mulitple times. Then a page request will only download it once and use it many times within the page.

Thanks,
