I'm monitoring this very carefully. Many of the hits are me.

Anyway...

Regarding the new proposed money distribution:
There is no distinction between 3rd/4th in baseball. They should be made even.

Regarding fines:
...I think this is actually a terrible idea (IMO... don't be too offended). I think it's absurd that a "bad trade" could actually cost me money, when it's quite possible that I thought the trade was alright. Having to pay when I didn't do anything wrong just isn't right. Trades have to be monitored to ensure that one person is not controlling two teams, however if an owner makes a bad trade to another and we've established they're not the same person... why not let it through? The Phillies weren't fined after the Millwood deal. There's a huge problem for fining something that's so subjective. Fining breaking of rules? That's one thing. I don't agree with it, but I can see why it would be done, although I think a better solution is just a warning the first time, and remove the owner later. Fining for trades though just doesn't make sense.

yeah i agree on the fining for bad trades, i am more talking about purposefully losing to get a better draft pick and rules like that

When i suggested a 'Bad trade' Fine..I was just meaning that if a team makes a trade that makes NO sense to the team at all, then that would be fine-able. Since ALL fines would be put up to a league wide vote, atleast 16 GM's would have to see the same view on the trade to make it worth a fine.

And i agree, if a team tanks a season for a higher draft pick, thats fine, and i might even suggest a rather high priced fine at that.

Regards,
Steve

I'm curious to see how this works out. It's been suggested a couple of times before and usually ended up as a flame war with multiple people shooting the idea down. Glad to see the negative nellies have stayed out.

well im more than happy to take the negative cause there will be positive with this. It just involves some people having to take a chance and :
1.trust me and my ability to make this idea work, cause i can
2.trust me with their money. Even if it is only 8 dollars, it is still money that people have and may not want to give up, but some GM's in my leagues think they can run a real team and those are the ones i tell to "put up or shut up".

No one is getting a pre-determined team when we start off. it will all be a fantasy draft so everyone gets their choice of players so if the team stinks its their fault. If this does work out i will try and see about opening another pay league down the road that uses real players. As i said before im trying to make this like fantasy baseball but with fantasy baseball you pay 50-100 bucks for a team and you have to pay for each trade or transaction and you may not even win. Here you pay 8 bucks and that will cover roughly 3, maybe 4 months of time. Now as of right now the cash prize is only 200 dollars but as this gets stronger more leagues like this will open and the cost will go down while the prize goes up.

"Put up or shut up" I like that.

I hope some people give this league a shot. As of right now, there are 4 owners, and we need 26 more. I realize that this is a PAY league, but it is only 8 dollars. A small cost to take on a chance...a chance that i'm sure will be great and encourage others to join such a league.

I'm on the fence. I very much like the idea of this league, as long as it's in capable hands (and it appears to be!). The fee isn't an issue. But I'd jump on board in a minute if it was historical players. So, I'm thinking . . . . .
