Foreman in the ring again
George Foreman is apparently ready to get back in
the ring one more time, and has a $20 Million deal with Don King. George said he wants to show younger people that you don't have to be afraid of getting old. You go George! |

Bad, bad idea. Who's he going to fight? Larry Holmes?

I'll bet Greg Page wasn't afraid of getting old either.

The fact that he's apparently going to be boxing again is perfect commentary on the state of the heavyweight division today. Maybe he'll fight Tyson, and Tyson can grill up Big George's ear on the Foreman Grill.

Actually, Cube, I read an interview with Page before his unfortunate injury where he basically said just that. In fact, part of his rationale for still fighting was b/c Foreman had shown it could be done and that a heavyweight "name" could still cash in.

No i think george is too big to get hitt too many times and he is foreman the name alone brings fear into his challenger, Foreman never looked old like holyfied he never looked like a old man, so therefore i see no harm or no saddness in this. Old people can do stuff too.

Does a doctor have to clear him for a fight? That is probably
the most suprising thing that someone in the medical profession would give a 55 year old man the thumbs up to step back into the ring. Not saying that George isnt capable, but there has got to be some risk involved at this stage in his life. |

Foreman has a marketing plan!
He just fires up the George Foreman Grill and lays on it for a few days...it does "drain away the fat" you know! He will be in fightin' trim in no time and then...he gets someone to fight under the name of Jen E. Craig and win or lose in the ring...he shows how an old fat man can get his youthful, trim figure back in short time [he sells a lot o' grills]...then he markets it as a weight loss program that beats the other programs [he sells a lot o' grills]...he then goes back to his forty hamburger/day pre-fight Foreman Grill diet plan [he sells a lot o' grills]...now if only he could get fat head Don King on the grill maybe he will disappear altogether ! |

The only relevant thing is who he fights. I mean I'm sure he can beat plenty of the scrubs out there but no way does he beat a con(pre)tender.
