Thursday 9/22

BOS - 10
CLE - 9

PHA - 6
NYY - 5

Red Sox pull in to a tie. Magic number for both clubs sits at 4. Yankees have now lost 7 straight games.

BSN - 5
BRO - 2

STL - 2
PHI - 0

Cardinals regain a three game lead. Magic number down to just one which means of course that the Dodgers must win out with the Cardinals losing each remaining game.

A's are throwing quite the monkey wrench in the Yankees plans.

Friday 9/23

BOS - 10
WAS - 6

NYA - 4
CHA - 1

Clubs remain tied, magic number at three.

PIT - 5
BRO - 2

CIN - 7
STL - 3

Reds do their part and defeat the mighty Cardinals but the Dodgers cannot stay alive. With the Dodgers loss the Cardinals take home the NL pennant and head to the World Series for the third straight season.

Saturday 9/24

WAS - 9
BOS - 7

NYA - 5
CHA - 0

Yankees take a one game lead and assure themselves at least a spot in a playoff game. With just one game to play, the Red Sox must win and see the Yankees lose or they will stay home. The AL pennant chase will come down to the final day of the season

Yankees 7 game losing streak comes to an end against the woeful Pale Hose. Nats have been pretty awful of late as well. Will be interesting if the two contenders win out from this point and we have a playoff game in the PWBL for the second straight year.

EDIT: Stop posting so G0DDAMM fast!

Some fun eh?

Where did my fingernails go?

I'm pretty sure 10-9 has been the average score in most Red Sox games this year.

Red Sox have bungled it. Yankees will take their 2nd pennant in 3 years.

Considering what you posted last year, Roger - I go into the last day of the season with tons of confidence

I believe you quoted last year that the Red Sox were doomed when Williams went down for three weeks with his knee injury.

Sunday 9/25 - Final day of the PWBL regular season

BOS- 11
WAS - 9

NYA - 8
CHA - 4

The Red Sox hold up their end of the bargain, but the ghastly White Sox fail to come through for their stockinged brethren and the Yankees take the pennant. For the Red Sox, their sweep at the hands of the mighty Yankees will haunt them the entire off-season. The Bronx Bombers advance to the World Series and will play a re-match of the '47 Series. That season the Cardinals were victorious and the Bombers will look to avenge their defeat.

World Series begins on Friday night with games one and two!

I might have but I doubt it. I'm much to superstitious to jinx my team with a brazen statement like that. Didn't seem to help though.

That and losing to the Nats in the next to the last game. The boxscores for this week will make some very interesting viewing.

Yankees will win the '49 WS. You heard it here first.

Edit: You heard it here second.
