Contract Question
When I try to release a player it says that something like $83,000,000 will be owed to him over the length of the contract. Would it be paid yearly until the first team option (two years before end of contract) or until the contract would be up? Just trying to figure out if it would be advantageous to keep him on the roster and just decline the team option when that time comes so I can open up some $$ sooner. Thanks!

IF you spread it out it would last until the end of the year prior to first option. So if option 1 is in 2025,and it is currently 2020, you would pay him 83M from 2020 to 2024, because 2025 is an option year. You can also pay the entirety now if you prefer, but even rich teams don't typically have that kind of money lying around. Even though you didn't ask for it, my advice would be to keep the player and try to trade their salary. Heck, retain 50% of it. It's still way less than just eating 83 mil. I hope that answers it.
