What to do with a suspended player?
So this is my first time having to deal with a suspended player on my 25 man roster and I'm not quite sure what I can do with him. I just started a game as the pirates and Kang has a 30 game suspension. Can I option him to the minors to serve his suspension or do I have to keep him on my 25 man roster?

He has to stay on your major league active roster I believe. He cannot be sent down nor can he be placed on the DL.

A quick way to get around it is to give him a type of "undisclosed injury" for a certain amount of days, if you really want to get him off the roster.

Is that how it really works in RL? I can't imagine that if a guy gets suspended for 30 days you'd be required to eat his roster spot and not replace him.

I said "I believe" and I stand corrected. IRW - they are placed on the "Suspended List" and they do not take up an active roster spot.

Players suspended as a result of insubordination, violating team rules, or due to an on-the-field incident, do count against the active roster. A player suspended for a PED violation does not count against the active roster. (Technically, a PED violation lands the player on the Restricted List, but in common parlance it is called a suspension.) |
