So, Sox fans are pissed at Johhny Damon because Red Sox management didn't want to re-sign him?

Since the curse is gone, you would think that the Red Sox faithful would join the 20th century and all... it is asking too much for them to join us all in 2006, so last century might be doable right? Babe Ruth is dead, so is the curse. Time to join the rest of us!

I still don't see the Yankees winning a lot of titles. Steinbrenner still doesn't understand the minors and still goes for the quick fix. I mean the Mets are better this year, so to compete against the crosstown rivals, but to make the team a real dynasty again, they have to develop some of that talent don't you think?

As to whether they'll keep making the playoffs, who knows? They certainly need to develop some homegrown talent again at some point -- something better than Chien-Ming Wang and Robinson Cano. The fact that Cano and Wang are on the Yankees' roster instead of being traded to some other team last season is a good sign, though.

Far more likely is that after his performance declines he'll be remembered by Yankee fans as a guy who played for a few seasons, but not as a real key to whatever team success the Yankees have in the next few seasons. I doubt he'll ever be all that beloved in New York.
