An OOTP Tournement
I dont know if its been done before, ive seen great teams in a tourney done but have we ever had a ootp tourney between our board members.
Heres my idea if anyone would be interested It would be a 162 game season with no DH and We all select 25 players each round from any season in the history of National and American league. BUT you can only use a player once in the tourney. You cant take Babe Ruth 1921 in round 2 and then take Babe Ruth 1927 in round 6. You can only start a player at a position he played during the season you picked from. You cant start him more games than he started at that position in real life. You must have at least 3 relievers and only 1 closer the rest of the roster is up to you. The parks would be neautral and there would be no trades. Injurys would be normal. It would be under replay but i would be interested in any advice on league settings. I would say just go with modern era. I dont think it really matters who plays who in the 1st round I would suggest just let one person draw the order as long its done before we pick the players. I dont think anyone would really have a unfair advantage and besides its just for fun. Well anyways thats just my idea im sure it could be improved with your suggestions. I would also think it would be best to have an expeienced online player or commish to run the tourney. I think we pretty much know most of the aliases. So we could veto Tonto , RIP etc. Yeah i know someone might be able to use an alias and have 2 teams but i would hope that everyone that would want to play would understand that it is just for fun. |

It is called the All Times Great Challenge. Gary Graves "RBL Webguy" did this a few months ago. Version II is coming soon.

Looks good.
I was thinking more of a full 64 team tourney with a final four. No playoffs just who ever wins the most games in the 162 game season wins the round. But yeah a lot of it is what i had in mind. Just wish i had known about this before. |
