Jed Black's Career
Jed Black was a fighter from my home town (Janesville, Wis.) who, at the top of his career was rated #3 welterweight in the world by Ring Magazine. He was a good friend of my father's who was an amateur boxer himself and used to spar with Jed. About five years ago Jed died and I attended the wake. Jed's most important fights were wins over a shopworn Ike Williams, and over a pre prime Henry Hanks. He fought a nationally televised draw with Chico Vejar but lost to Carmen Fiore and Isaac Logart. He then retired to join the army. He was a stable mate of Chuck Davey. Here are his opponents.

The files for Carmen Fiore, Jed Black, Chico Vejar and Isaac Logart are exactly the same as they appear in the data pool. Henry Hanks and Ike Williams are rated as welterweights by me to reflect their respective career stages when they faced Jed. Joe Klein is also unchanged.
