OOTP 20 - ABA League looking for more GM's

Hey fellow GM's!

The ABA League is a 20-team fictional league. The league runs 3 real-time-sims every Monday through Friday. We're a lower key league with a variety of skill levels. The variety of teams available offer a good array of challenges depending on what you are looking for. We will be entering our 10th season.

We have a Slack channel for discussions during the work day. During the All-star game and poseseason, games are streamed online. We are in championship week and the games are being streamed here: https://www.twitch.tv/925studiosjj

During the offseason, we run off days until decisions need to be made.

Let me know here or send an email to commish@abaootp.com if you are interested or have any questions!

Teams available and background:
The Brooklyn Bandicoots are perennial contenders come postseason time. They've got the budget for a big market team and have made the playoffs 5 out of the last 9 seasons despite being in a very competitive division. Despite their status, they've never made it to the World Series.

The Milwaukee Eskimos have done an excellent job combining younger talent and older veterans. As a result, they've made the playoffs the last 4 years. They're a mid-market team with a core you can build off of.

The Bailey Hall Godfathers and the Memphis Thunder Bats are two more teams with playoff aspirations. Both are in a division that didn't have much figured out until about 10 days left in the season. A late charge by Bailey Hall secured them the division, while Memphis faltered in the race for a wild card spot. This division is wide open and in any given year, a different team may end up in the postseason.

The Philadelphia Marauders and the Indianapolis Eagle Squadron are the fallen stars. They were the major powers in the American Conference 5-9 years ago, but the aging veterans were never replaced. Both teams are now stuck in a rebuilding phase that you're never sure ever got started. Despite that, both teams have very large budgets with very little of it committed to bad contracts, giving a GM a blank slate to play with.

The Jacksonville Golden Gophers, San Francisco Great Danes, and Austin Desperadoes are small market teams that will need to be careful with their contract choices. Jacksonville in particular is in a division with 3 big market teams. However, each of these teams has had a younger core to make them competitive. It's a question of filling in those gaps with fewer financial resources.

The Baltimore Blue Jays, Atlanta Hot Rods, and Colorado Blue Jays are expansion teams that came into the league 4 years ago. These three teams are still collecting draft picks as they haven't been able to make much noise so far. However, the 4th expansion team with a human GM was able to become the first expansion team to make the postseason.
