Schedule editing

People, is there an easier way to edit schedules than to use the in game one?

Yes, edit the schedule file itself using Notepad++

I create the game's MLB and MILB schedlules each year and I find a spreadsheet works the best. I create all those with Open Office.

Are you creating or have the 2014 MLB schedules?

Yep done...all but the azl and gcl. Their not out yet. These are prelim. files so not all times are correct. Matchups are unless the lgs. change them before opening day. These may or may not load automatically, you may have to load them manually and may need to make changes to the schedules element line or your league structure (PCL change the Padres AAA team to El Paso Chihuahuas) depending on what version of ootp you're using. All other lg. changes were just nicknames and those don't affect schedules). They loaded fine in my secret copy and ootp 14.
Here you go. The zip is actually a .rar file so if you can't extract it, change .zip to .rar

I'm having all sorts of trouble extracting your schedules. I can't get it to be anything but a .zip file and when I try to convert it from a .zip file to a .rar file, the software says it can't do it because it is not a .zip file. Any help? Thanks.

Use winrar i use that for anything that doesn't have a 7zip association. or 7 zip.

wish they'd allow us to attach .rar files.

I started playing with schedules when I first started my dynasty report "King County Baseball League." I have become pretty decent with it. It is very time-consuming. I have a couple of oddball schedules that wouldn't be of any use to anyone. I have been thinking about helping out in this area though. I think i could put together some pretty good efforts here.

I'm very comfortable with Excel and have found that pasting text files into Excel and working from there the process is not that bad.

Anyway, I'm not making any promises but, time permitting, I may be able to fill that schedule-making hole that we have. I have a lot on my plate right now but hopefully, soon, this is something that I can assist with.

I guess I'm kinda like LGO in a sense. Hopefully, though, I can provide results. If not, at least, you got your hopes up.

I want you to clean that plate of yours right now...

Then get busy on those schedules...

I've never downloaded schedules before....I gather I place them in the "schedules" folder. Couple of questions though: do I delete the current content in the schedules folder before doing this? Also, once I have the files in place, what else must I do?

You don't have to put them in the schedules folder. I just download them, go to the schedule editor, and click "import".

You can do as Ike says and put them anywhere and manually import them.
However, if you wish to have ootp auto import schedules, then they must be in the schedules folder. Nothing needs to be replaced or deleted.

Hi, Bigrod, I have a scheduling problem similar to one last year that you helped me out with. I have attached our schedule here and PM'ed you the details about the problem.

Thanks.

Got your pms before I saw this:
See if this will work. I changed the Dodgers-Dbacks to single games and set the game time to the local Aus. time. 7pm Sat. and 1pm Sun.
Swapped Anaheim and Houston so those should be correct for your setup.
Make sure you check things after import. Especially the spring training as I'm not sure what will happen when you import it...I've never had luck importing a spring training with regular season combined schedule even though the manual at one time said you could..so any problems, let me know. We might have to separate them or change game types and rearrange the day=#'s. Been 4 years since I've messed with a combo real and spring schedule.

Actually, go ahead and separate the spring training games from the regular season games, if you would. The backup I am using this with has already played a few spring training games so I am not concerned about them. Thanks.

No problem...attached and fixed. Removed the type="2" (Spring training) games.
