VOTE: Realignment for my game!
EDIT: Guess I took too long in doing options for the poll...options listed below as 1, 2, 3
I'm expanding from 30 to 32 at the end of the 2015 season. When I first drew up the realignment plan with Atlanta (AL) and Brooklyn (NL), I added a fourth division to give four, 4-team divisions. However, I have Colorado in the NL Central/North with the Cubs, Cardinals, and Brewers. I feel that is a cluster, especially with those three clubs tight together. I started thinking: move Houston back to the NL (thanks for the AL last place ranks from 2013-2015!) and Colorado to the AL, which would give the AL West four teams on the west and zero Texas teams in said division. This would clear up the issues. Now, I'm torn with either putting Houston in the NL South or NL Central/North and Cincinnati in the other. Here is what I have for the divisional layouts, minus the altered teams: AL East: Boston, Cleveland, NY Yankees, Toronto AL Central/North: Chicago-AL, Detroit, Kansas City, Minnesota AL South: Atlanta-AL, Baltimore, Tampa Bay, ****** AL West: LA Angels, Oakland, Seattle, ******* NL East: Brooklyn, NY Mets, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh NL Central/North: Chicago-NL, Milwaukee, St. Louis, ****** NL South: Atlanta-NL, Miami, Washington, ******* NL West: Arizona, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco Option 1: Rangers to AL South, Rockies to AL West, Astros to NL South, Reds to NL Central Option 2: Rangers to AL South, Rockies to AL West, Reds to NL North, Astros to NL South Option 3: Rangers to AL West, Rockies to NL Central Option 4: Your call Last edited by nutt; 02-09-2015 at 05:02 PM. |

Moves I would make:
KC moves to NL Central/North(rivalry with StL) Balt and Miami change divisions OR Tampa and Washington change divisions(Gets Wash/Balt and Miami/TB rivalry) SF moves to AL West(SF/Oak rivalry) Texas to AL South Houston to NL South Rockies To NL West Cinn to AL Central/North Divisions look like this: AL East Bost, Clev, NYY, Tor AL Central/North Chic WS, Det, Cinn, Minn AL South Atl, Texas, Balt, Wash (or Miami, TB) AL West Angels, Oakland, Seattle, SF NL East Brooklyn, NYM, Phil, Pitt NL Central/North Cubs, Mil, StL, KC NL South Atl, Houston, Miami, TB (or Balt, Wash) NL West Dodgers, SD, Arizona, Rockies |

I would move Houston to the NL central with Milwaukee, St Louis & Chicago, and move Arizona (or San Diego) to the AL West.
In that scenario, you have one team from each region in each league (just like LA & Chicago). Houston/TX can be inter league rivals, Seattle/Colorado, and Arizona/San Diego |

To heck with that noise. Four eight-team divisions is the only way to fly!
NL East: ATL, BRK, CIN, MIA, NYM, PHI, PIT, WAS NL West: ARI, CHC, COL, HOU, LAD, STL, SD, SF AL East: ATL, BAL, BOS, CLE, DET, NYY, TBA, TOR AL West: CHW, KC, LAA, MIL, MIN, OAK, SEA, TEX I moved the Brewers back to the AL, and the Astros back to the NL. Just like the good lord intended, before Dud Smellig screwed it up! You wouldn't even have to do that if you didn't want to, though.

Altering SeventiesGuy's proposal into an eight division format with COL in the AL like the OP intended:
NL East 1: BRK, NYM, PHI, PIT NL East 2: ATL-N, CIN, MIA, WAS NL West 1: CHC, HOU, MIL, STL NL West 2: ARI, LAD, SD, SF AL East 1: BOS, DET, NYY, TOR AL East 2: ATL-A, BAL, CLE, TBA AL West 1: CHW, KC, MIN, TEX AL West 2: COL, LAA, OAK, SEA |
