Defensive Ratings

I'm heading into the 1978 season in my historical sim, and I'm noticing that Larry Harlow is not receiving a defensive rating in CF despite the fact that he was the primary starting CF for Baltimore that year. I have the AI set up for a recall, double the current year, 3 yr average. I haven't really noticed any discrepancies on other players. I am commissioner, so went to edit, but he already has 200 experience, and his OF range is 14 out of 20; so I don't understand why he's not getting a CF rating.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

I think Spritz mentioned that it's related to experience and their production/effectiveness at the position (possibly based on career?)

He was far better as a RF (+0.32 Range Factor) and LF (+0.41 Range Factor) than he was as a CF (-0.09 Range Factor) so that may have some effect?

If a player has an Outfield Error rating of 39 or lower (out of 250 in the player editor), no position rating will appear for them in center field. I'm guessing this is not your issue, since it would also result in the right field position rating disappearing.

The same is true at other positions, with different minimums for different ratings.
