He walks Cobb, Crawford flies out, and then on consecutive ground balls the Chicago infield boots them. With the sacks juiced, and one out, Veach hits a ground ball to the infield that is playing IN, and it's 6 to 2 to 3, game over!

Unlike the previous day's contest it was a close one for the contest this afternoon. The two teams were deadlocked at 2 apiece until the bottom of the 9th.

The broom was out in this Sunday contest and it was the Red Sox being swept right out of Navin Field having lost 3 in a row to fall 13 games off of the torrid pace of the Chicago White Sox. The Sox actually lost yesterday (won today) making the Tigers officially the hottest team in both leagues right now having won 8/10. The gap is still a formidable 8.5 games.

The All Star game will be played in 2 days and then a single game versus the Red Sox. Not so fast with that broom, eh?
