Better Simulation of Mega-Contracts

While I generally find the game's financial system to be pretty good when it comes to free agency (finding overvalued and undervalued players is tremendously fun) it seems like it's very rare to see a true free agent megadeal (the 7+ year/ $200M+ extravaganzas we all know and love). In my QS league I was able to sign Bryce Harper to a 7 year/$136M contract even though he a. just turned 26 and b. he's coming off a 14.6 WAR (!) season where he won the triple crown and stole 64 bases before putting up a 1.087 OPS in the playoffs to lead Washington to the championship and c. has won four straight MVPs; I'm thinking that kind of player is worth, at a bare minimum, $25 million a year. I remember in some of the older versions of OOTP the AI did occasionally give out contacts with that kind of annual value...what happened?
