Hey Hell Atlantic...sounds like a real good league you're starting. I'd like to sign up as the Blue Jays owner if possible, and if they are taken I'll be whoever else is left.

I've come up with a pretty simple idea that I think is a pretty easy and fast working sim schedule
15 days on Monday 15 days on Wednesday 15 days on Friday This is fast paced so the rebuilding teams don't lose attention but it's also slow enough where GMs can make moves within their roster for a playoff run. Its what I think is one of the most sucessful leagues in OOTP community does. http://www.fibb.net/

With my current system I have previously posted on the point system how about
a 5 yr contract to a person who earns 1000 pts a 4 yr contract to a person who earns 750 pts a 3 yr contract to a person who earns 400 pts with any thing less than 3 yrs un realistic to for pattern then pro rate these amounts over the length of their contract |

Had yet to see a Toronto GM, so I'd like to put a claim on the team. You could reach me at paintballmink@hotmail.com or un470p48l3puj0l5. I'd say I've been around the game for a good amount of time and have some quality experience in handling teams.

Ah crap, if Toronto is indeed taken, then the Pirates or Rockies will do just fine.

Another question if we are talking realism. Are we going to use a revenue sharing system.

I would say a week three times a week. THis way the season would take roughly take 6 weeks to finish. Maybe slow it down in the playoffs. or just do those live to allow for GM to change lineups or rotation immediatly for injuries or just situation

Christ... I miss ONE DAY and look at all the posts I have to wade through.
One by one (nobody take anything personally) RATINGS: IMO, I think it's a little easier to scout a player using the 20-150 or whatever that one is. I don't mind the 2-8 like scouts use, but how many scouts are right all the time Quote:

Maybe we set up a warning system of some sorts, and you get flagged for making a deal of questionable ethics without being able to backup your deal with a GOOD explanation. "I signed AJ Burnett for 20 million per year but he sucks now and I want to ditch him for Chad Billingsley" is not a valid argument, however "I signed AJ Burnett for 20 million per year, but 2 weeks before the trade deadline Miguel Tejada, Manny Ramirez, Albert Pujols, and Eric Chavez all went down with season-ending injuries. It's probably beneficial for me to send Burnett plus cash to <insert team making playoff run> for a package of Billingsley, Daric Barton, and Joe Blanton in order to make a run at it next year when I'm at full health, as well as extend Pujols." would be a little more plausible.

Do you guys think that MLB teams don't sign FA's to trade them for spects because of any other reason than the teams with money are always competing and the teams without have to spend the money on players they are sure they'll keep?
There's not a lot of extra cash floating around, if KC had 120 million all of a sudden, you'd think they'd sign everyone they could find, and then trade for spects if it wasn't enough to beat Chicago or Minnesota.

HA
I'll take the pirates if they are still available. And i can definately help with other stuff if you need it. Implementing some of the LXF "random events" would be a great thing. Plus, maybe you can even do cool things like FA compensation. PM/Email me if you have any things you want some input on. You should have the AIM. PM me at FOFC or RWBL, as I almost never visit here. I'll be on AIM tomorrow during working hours. Last edited by stevew; 01-04-2006 at 12:16 AM. |

My thoughts ...
I like the idea of simming three times a week, with each sim covering no more than 7 days (ideally 5). Roster set - no definitive opinion here. Ratings - again, no opinion ... will go with whatever the league decides. All the managerial contract extensions hooha - "I was told that there would be no math." Some interesting ideas floating around that I am sure we can hash out before we light this candle. I just don't want to be responsible of keeping track of the points. To the Yankees, Red Sox, Blue Jays & Devil Rays ... the Orioles are looking forward to enjoying the view from the top! |
