Hey HA,

I notice someone already claimed Cleveland, if they don't want in anymore I will take them.

Otherwise, i'd like the Angels, Mets, Cubs, or Astros.

Let me know!

lol, you're in. gonna update all the teams right now. considering that most people had off today this is pretty impressive. the website particulars are being worked on shortly. the 2nd-most important thing about a league is the website (first-most is the owners).

which is the latest and greatest? i haven't started a new MP league in about 2 years, so i'm sure there have been advances in roster files since then.

I'll take the Angels. Looking foward to the website and the league.

BTW Hell Atlantic, I think we should have a list and goals for each spefific team and if you don't accomplish it, then you are fired.

Gm Contracts

I am going to through out this idea

All new owners get a 4yr deal
  • If the owner wins 1 WS title then a 4 yr extension automatically at the end of the current contract
  • If the owner makes the playoffs in just 1 yr of their 4 yrs, then they get a 1 yr extension at the end of their contract
  • If the owner makes the playoffs in 2 yrs of their 4 yrs, then they get a 2 yr extension at the end of their contract
  • If the owner makes the playoffs in 3 yrs of their 4 yrs, then they get a 3 yr extension at the end of their contract
  • If the owner makes the playoffs in all 4 yrs , then they get a 4 yr extension at the end of their contract
  • If the owner makes the playoffs in all 4 yrs and wins a WS title, then they get a 5 yr extension at the end of their contract
  • If the owner doesn't make the playoffs in their first 4 yrs and fail to finsih above .500 in any year then they are automatically "fired" from that team
  • If the owner doesn't make the playoffs in their first 4 yrs and finishes above .500 at least once then the league will vote whether or not to keep the GM with their current team
I could go on and on with all kinds of scenario, but you see the point where the league should go

As was point out earlier I don't think you can have the same goals for everyteam, as it would be much easier to acheive for the higher market teams, so the contract status should be set on either market size or each team should have there own. Which could be given out by maybe a rules committee of the league. Like have 4-5 people in a rules comittee and give out some goals for each team to earn extensions?

My main complaint about contracts being based on playoffs is this simple fact. Only 27% of the teams make the playoffs. So in 4 years at best roughly everyone can make the playoffs once. But odds are there are going to be teams that win the conference several times in a row or at least twice in four years. That would automatically fire one GM. I would say it needs to be based on winning pct. (both actual and improvement or decline). Lets say my team the Yankees wins 70% of there games the first year and a WS. The next three years we win only 45% and fail to make the playoffs. U think George is going to bring me back for the 5th year. But lets say the D-Rays win only 25% of the game year one. and increase their winning pct by 10% all of the next three years. They would get fired. I do not like the whole just based on playoffs.

Idea this is just starter

Five Years to start. (this enough time to see a pattern)
§ Make playoffs = 20pts
§ Win Playoff game = 5 pts
§ Win World Series = 40 pts
§ Winning Pct > 65% in one season = 25 pts
§ Winning Pct >50 <65 in one season = 20 pts
§ Winning Pct >40 <50 in one season = 10 pts
§ Winning Pct <40 in one season = -10 pts
§ Make Profit in any season (> a certain amount)= 30 pts
§ Lose money in any season (> a certain amount)= -15pts
Bonuses
§ Make Money consecutive years = 10 pts per year
§ Lost money consecutive years = -10 Pts per year
§ Playoffs consecutive years = 15pts per year
§ Win WS consecutive year = 20 pts per year
§ Best record in League = 25 pts
§ Worst record in league = -15pts

I think we should take account for how much profit the team makes, winning percentage, and how many rings the franchise has... I would love to be in the rule committee and discuss each team's goals and accomplishment list.

i'm very interested in joining, either as the Rays or Padres.

i like the ideas of contracts and limiting trades, i hate it when somebody says: "want to trade?" and they don't even know what team you are.

I also love this idea! I'd be interested in taking any team to join this league but preferably The D'rays, Cubs, Cardinals, or Astros in that order. Thanks!!!
