Player demands issue
I'm having a problem in an online league that I run with player demands being out of whack. For example in a league where the average super star is gettting $ 1.7 Mil guys are asking for more than $ 4 Mil In some cases it's 30-40% of a teams payroll. We have a hard salary cap which is $10 Mil
Any ideas on what can be done ?

I don't see what the problem is. Won't their demands come down as you progress through the offseason, assuming no one is making offers?

Is there cash in your league? If so do lots of teams have extra cash? Lots of unused revenue?
These are usually big things that cause player demands to skyrocket. They don't look at it like "these teams only have a 10m payroll" they look at it like "hey the average superstar player makes 17% so if team X has 40+ million in excess funds i should ask for 17% of that" |

something to try.. even if you don't like salary caps..
either use one or set one slightly above what any team can afford. that way it has no real effect on humans. include any max cash on hand limit... which as above mentioned could be a problem if you changed it from default or it's still at "10M" for that environment, you definitely need to lower it and it will affect demands. i think a salary cap reins in things like initial demands. instead of calculating that stuff in part by league revenue, i think it is smart enough to base it instead upon the salary cap figure. could be wrong too. try in a test league clone of your online league. see what happens in ensuing offseasons. can even speed things up by turning off playerpics/bb cards, level of detail in minors, awards, anyhting asthetic and resource intensive etc. you'll still see 'bad' contracts as you do in RL, but i don't recall changing any other settings and this seemed to have an effect.
