Could be tied to that extremely annoying issue where if you leave either the lineup page or the pitching page to look at your transactions page the stats go to whatever minor league level you last looked at upon your return. Argh!

Out of the Park (OOTP) Baseball will announce a partnership with Viacom, corporate parent of Comedy Central, and Matt Stone and Trey Parker to produce and distribute Out of South Park Baseball(OOSP). A mock-up of the face-gens will be made available at the time of the announcement:*



The game will be based on the lovable characters from the South Park animated series. Stan is the star pitcher, but there is a random chance each game that his father will interrupt the game by drunkenly challenging everyone in the stands to fight. Kyle is the center fielder who constantly has to convince people that yes, Jews can actually play baseball. Rumors have it that there are over 2,000 different ways for Kenny to die during the game, but long-time fans of OOTP know that lead developer Markus Heinsohn will make sure that Kenny lives forever. The game lasts nine innings, or until Cartman grabs the ball and proclaims "screw you guys, I'm going home!"

Just a couple guesses.

- Revamped injury system. Maybe tracking individual body parts, isn't the OOTP football game going to do this?

- Some sort of MLB License. I thought last year they mentioned they were going to explore this to get logos and names in the game.

- Something to do with defensive shifts. Big trend in real life, kind of minimal in the game. Spray charts could also be interesting.

- Deferred money in contracts.

- Stadium stuff. Spend money to build a new stadium, stadium age coming into play, renovations, etc.

- Wild guess but maybe something to do with audio. Some commentary, basic for now but something to build on. This of course to go along with some improvements to the 3D stuff. More and better models, 2D sprites for players, etc.

- Trade block improvement. Designate a few spots you're weak in.

- You know how in the off-season center, it shows FA with interested teams below them? Make that less of a sure thing and tie it to rumors that appear in the news reports. Some will be true, some won't be.

- DRS defensive stat. Some more defensive info in general.

- Something to do with pitch tracking. In the games you can see where pitches were located but to be honest I have no idea if that's cosmetic or not. Even if it's not, it's not something you ever see outside of the actual game being played out. In real life, it's important.

- More realistic bullpen usage by the AI. More specialist roles? Was thinking about this last night...would be cool to have a "double-play specialist" role for bullpen pitchers where you can slot in your heavy groundball guy to
come in with the bases loaded and one out and other specific times.

- Wildest of wild ideas: Subscription based OOTP Live online game and app.

Some of my favorites. It would be nice to change the trade block so you can see prospects or pitchers for example exclusively.

I don't disagree but for some reason the TB in my games rarely has more than 7 players.

Yea. Part of what I was thinking would be that the trade block would have much more usefulness than it does now, meaning more players listed, but maybe in different ways. Overpriced veterans could be had fairly easily as salary dumps, but maybe younger guys are also listed separately (like right now, Washington's surplus in pitching has them listening on Strasburg) meaning, the team will listen, has a motivation to sell, but will only do it for the right pieces.

Obviously this is 15 seconds of thinking it through but I feel like the trade block could turn into a very cool and useful feature compared to what it is now.

In the past, we have seen many members of this forum relate how great it would be for this game to have graphics similar to some of these video game titles.....perhaps that's it; they're about to go into partnership with one of those game franchises or one that went by the wayside in recent years and has been persuaded into a joint venture.

Come to think of it, Shaun Sullivan and his Puresim game franchise is 'unattached' at the moment, as it were, Hmmmmmmm.....

I'm curious, when this happens have you tried leaving the game, going to your profile and giving yourself control of lineups/rotation, then going back to the game and try changing the pitcher?

Bit of a pain to have to do that each time but might be a workaround until it gets fixed.
