Got a question about team roster after player trade
I just download a iOOTP 14 on my cell phone and start a new game with the Oakland A's. The first trade I made is to send Michael Taylor to Boston for pitcher Anthony Ranaudo. The popup message says the new SP will be placed on my minor league roster, but instead he is on my active roster.
Right now I'd prefer to keep Ranaudo in minor league. But if I demote him to the minors, his morale will turn to Very Angry. Is there any way the new comer will be automatically sent to minors? |

Usually, when you trade for a player who is on a major league roster, he'll end up in the Designated for Assignment area. I'm not sure if that's how iOOTP does it since I have never played it. But, every player who plays baseball thinks he should be in the major leagues. That's just part of their ego. And, just because he'll be angry doesn't mean you can't send him down to the minors. If I was a major league baseball player, I'd want to be in the majors, not the minors. But if they have no room for me there, I'd be happy just to be playing. But that's just me. In the game, I see loads of players who think they should be playing in the majors. And then when I look at their stats and see how poorly they're doing in the minors, I just let them stew there until they show me they can hack it at that level before I find a way to promote them to the majors. That, or trade them for someone more useful.
