Edit Schedule Function

This may be a 'once game is started' limitation, I don't know. But I started my game (still in pre-season) with a balanced schedule and would have preferred it unbalanced.

Went to League Setup and unchecked the Balanced Schedule box, then went to Edit Schedule function and asked it generate a new schedule. It erased the old and then gave me a popup saying it could not generate a fictional schedule with Unbalanced or Interleague Play and directed me to go check the Balanced box or uncheck the Interleague. I did so and it did its job recreating the schedule, but I'm right back where I was.

It appears this decision can't be undone, eh?

It seems the problem may revolve around generating an unbalanced schedule which includes interleague play. If it's balanced with interleague or unbalanced without interleague, it seems it will create schedules for those combinations.

I didn't have interleague selected in the original or the second configuration. I simply wanted to change from balanced to unbalanced. The popup was the only mention that if I had interleague checked to uncheck it. It just seems once decided, it's final.

Parent config=
48 teams. 2 sub-leagues, 4 divisions, each with 6 teams.

same problem here, mine is set up just as the MLB is.

This appears - as other notes contend and confirm - there is a problem with the game implementing the unbalanced schedule.
