Managed to steal myself a 98 Kevin Brown for 51999. Right up there with the Appling heist I did a few months ago. Hopefully he can help guide the Saints out of this little inconsistent patch where we're playing down to some pretty lousy teams.

The last hurdle could be the Silverado Spurs (Kushiel) in the finals.
A fun week and playoff weekend ahead for all of us.
Good luck to all teams.

Good luck-I did notice your teams but didn't realize how many of Kushiel's teams are in the league. I am trying to get my four former OL teams into Perfect so I can log in to one and check them all. Manhattan (formerly Everett) went down to Diamond two weeks ago. I revamped the roster and they will find their way back except they may run into my Jefferson Valley team in the playoffs. Now that Mt. Vernon (former Boogie Knights) looks to be safe this week, their roster will be turned over before next week. I haven't spent a point in a few months on them. Wildwood is the former San Pedro team, only one player is left from the original team.

Coney Island has its first series with the '25 this morning. I think I will have my Warriors will have their hands full. That is a formidable team.

Well the Teatotallers finally broke 20 wins last night...20. WORST SEASON IN PL EVER.

I'm at least 6 below pythagorean too.

The one bright spot is that 100 Santana has tossed 1 no-no and 2 more shutouts.

The other sad news is that the Gorillas got sniped from a bargain deal on a 98 Speaker in the final 2 seconds...Went for just over 22k.

Welp, 10 straight losses for the Saints. That should be the death knell for any championship aspirations I have this week. We've been exposed as frauds, and if I could get any angrier, I would.

The Warbirds got off to a STRONG start this year. Its all good news when you start 46-6. The math has caught up to us and we have cooled off to 77-18 and in a comfortable 1st place.

Pedro is 17-0 before the all star break...winning his first 15 starts in a row.

Newly acquired Cy Young (100) will bolster the league leading staff when i figure out who to remove.

It looks like you took the series 2-1.
3 more games against the M25 on Saturday before the two teams meet in the playoffs.

Good luck....

P433: An Incredible First Half...and Yet...

After Huntley's 26-1 April that was also the start of its ridiculous 32-game winning streak (still doesn't sound real!), the Red Raiders inevitably came back down to earth a bit, relatively speaking, going "only" 24-3 in May and 22-5 in June. July has been tougher sledding for Huntley, with a good but not astounding 11-5 record before the All-Star Break, but that still leaves the Red Raiders with an incredible 83-14 record at the break, which, of course, has Huntley in the driver's seat for the #1 AC seed, with a lead over the current #2 seed of an amazing...

<checks standings>

...1 game?!?

Yes, that's correct; riding a 13-game winning streak into the break, the AC West Pittsburgh RedSox have kept pace with Huntley and sit at 82-15.

And let's not sleep on the AC East's frontrunner, the Haledon Glaziers, who are a far-more-than-solid 74-22!

In other words, despite Huntley's scorching hot start, nothing is decided in P433!

Oh, and the NC East is a fantastic race between the Slumberton Slumlords and Weston Pointe Caspers-FTC, and the NC Central and West leaders Perugia Warriors and Philadelphia Legends are no slouches either.

In any case, All-Star Break standings follow...looking forward to what promises to be an amazing second half!

Out of the break, Huntley and Pittsburgh have been opposites: the Red Raiders are 3-0, while Pittsburgh is 0-3. So the gap between the teams is now 4 games...

...and wouldn't you know it, next on the schedule, Huntley visits Pittsburgh for a 4-game series.

It's getting real in P433...

It's getting real in P433...
Huntley took game 1, 16-0; Norm Cash led the offensive barrage for the Red Raiders with 3 of the team's 8 doubles, while Ed Walsh and Harry Brecheen combined for the shutout.

Game 2 went Huntley's way, as well, 8-2, with Barry Bonds' 3-run shot off Jacob deGrom the big blow; Curt Schilling and Walter Johnson combined to hold the RedSox to 1 earned run.

But then, in game 3, Pittsburgh's 100 (Record Breaker) Pedro Martinez instantly reversed the series' momentum by, shockingly, no-hitting the Red Raiders! With 11 K against 2 BB, Pedro completely dominated a lineup that had scored 24 runs in the first 2 games of the series. Jackie Robinson's 2-run homer was the biggest hit for the RedSox as they won, 3-0.

Game 4 would serve as revenge for the 16-0 drubbing handed to them in game 1, as the RedSox earned a series split with a 12-3 pounding of the Red Raiders. Honus Wagner's 2 home runs, a 3-run shot off Johnson in the 6th and a 2-run blast off Brecheen in the 8th, were the most memorable of Pittsburgh's 14 hits.

So, after a dramatic 4-game split, Huntley's lead in the race for the #1 AC seed still sits at 4 games. And the Haledon Glaziers are only 3.5 games behind Pittsburgh. P433 is setting up for an exciting finish!

Frogs ended day #4 of sims with a 74-34 record and an 8-game division lead over K.P. Even though the Frogs aren't really using an optimal lineup and haven't really got on a roll this week, we've managed the best overall record in P452 to this point. But, there are lots of teams within striking distance: K.P., Diamond Street Strays, Sacramento Sturgeon, Chiba Lotte Marines, Steelport Saints, Bagram Bombers to name a few.

Red Ruffing was in the hunt for a pitching triple crown, but has fallen off in strikeouts. Ruffing leads the AC in wins (17) and ERA (2.14), but is now 3rd in Ks (156). Trevor Hoffman is rocking an 0.20 ERA (2219 ERA+) in 45.1 IP. The only earned run in there? A solo homer to silver Luis Castillo in a 5-3 win. Go figure.

Steelport is out of it. They can't beat Chiba Lotte and Bagram. Way we're playing, we'll be lucky to make the playoffs.

Also, that Luis Castillo probably belonged to the Patriots. I love how he is somehow holding his own at this level. It would be the greatest thing ever if he somehow stole me a batting title.

The Raccoons are loving this week's weak league (1 PL championship for the other 31 teams combined). We've never had such a lead in either record or RDiff like this before. Now if we can just turn it into a championship. If not, I hope one of the teams that haven't won a perfect championship, win one (so anyone but Austin).

We're approaching a milestone any day now. We've got 1998 career losses - just 2 more to go!

We have a team AVG of .314 which if maintained, would beat our record of .312 set way back when we were in Silver. Also, we're on pace for 1041 runs which would be a record as well. Ruth is a major contributor to our offensive success this year, hitting .354 with an 187 OPS+.

Satchel Paige is having another fine year in relief. I'm not sure I've ever even mentioned him since I moved him to the bullpen many years ago, but he's been a very consistent performer through the years. He's pitched in 1189 G (he's a MR so doesn't get too much use) and has a career 2.82 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. It's nice to have someone so steady that I've never even thought of him much at all since I always know I can count on him. Of course, being the sentimental person that I am, he'll be sold once I get my next pitching upgrade.

P454 sporting 45 PL titles this week. 43 of those are in the AC, 24 of those are in the AC East. 2 in the entire NC. A tough row to hoe for the winner this season no doubt.

Nobody wants to be in WC game where winner faces Brooklyn.

I have no team that's not dastardly terrible.

At least the Raccoons finally sold the duplicate (89) Bruce Sutter for 15k. That took like a month.

I can't tell you how much I hate historical packs given out like candy. I spent half a year scrambling up KC from nothing to where I was couple of 100k to the good in terms of trading efforts. Then, one week of historical packs, and everything was wiped out. 60k - gone. The Accountants' entire card stash had its value wiped out. Good move. Such a good move.

I'm just going to come join your league. Can I squeeze in this week?
I cracked 26 wins last night on the Totallers. Heck all 3 of my teams have less than 30 wins. Combined I don't have more wins than the lead in this league.

Which Paige is that? I had the negro league one for many seasons, but mostly as a starter and he struggled at that.

Belfast's minor league team is doing well. Captain Lou is hunting for the triple crown. I rebuilt this team, which is all free to play, by selling everyone, grabbing Lou, then everyone else is a special player. Dykstra is on team, and He is going to right field for training next

--

Belfast is 20 games up, JoeD got player of week. I'm happy with that.

Good luck everyone!

Just as I was lamenting the Frogs going through the motions...you know, hopping around in no particular direction and without conviction, the team put up a big month. The Frogs went 23-3 in August, sprinkled in a 13-game winning streak, and ended the night on a separate, active 10-game winning streak. The Frogs are now 97-37 (+297) and have an 11-game division lead.

100 SE Richie Ashburn is having a nice inaugural season playing CF and batting leadoff [.313/.406/.466, 4 HR, 51 RBI, 21 SB, 5.8 WAR].

100 SE Trevor Hoffman gave up another earned run. That bum. [1-1, 31 SV, 0.32 ERA, 2.2 WAR, 1358 ERA+].

100 SE Red Ruffing continues to advance his candidacy for pitcher of the year [22-4, 1.93 ERA, 198 K, 38 BB, 205 IP, 7.6 WAR].

P433: Setting Up for a Fantastic Finish

Let's start with the NC, which has the one compelling division race left. Only 2 of the 4 NC West teams battling for the division title and Wild Card will make the playoffs, thanks to the Weston Pointe Caspers-FTP. And while there is an 8-game spread in the standings between first and fourth, there is only a 3-game spread in Exp W-L! In other words, it will all come down to the head-to-head matchups and (old school alert) who gets hot at the right time. In the first series of the day, the Philadelphia Legends host the Snaggletown Seawolves, Texas 2 visits the last-place Medford Black Tornado, and the Grand Canyon Express hosts the aforementioned Caspers-FTP. Lots of drama in store in the NC West on this final day of the regular season!

Now, back to the AC. Despite its monthly winning percentage dropping steadily (from April to August: .963, .889, .815, .720, .667), the Huntley Red Raiders are still in the driver's seat for the #1 AC seed at the moment. Amazingly, the Haledon Glaziers have caught and surpassed the Pittsburgh RedSox in the battle for Division Series home-field advantage by 1 game! Here's how the teams have fared head-to-head so far this season:

Huntley vs Haledon: 3-3 (road team won both series 2-1)
Huntley vs Pittsburgh: 2-2 (3-game series in Huntley to come this month)
Haledon vs Pittsburgh: 3-3 (again, road team won both series 2-1)

Oh, and here is the record of the 2-time Perfect League champion St George Slammers against the 3 division leaders:

vs Huntley: 1-6
vs Haledon: 3-4
vs Pittsburgh: 7-5 to date, with 7 home matchups left in September

So, after careful consideration, here is my playoff prediction:

In any case, penultimate standings follow; good luck to everyone in September!
