Question about basestealing
If you try to steal a base and the runner doesn't go, does your chance of success diminish if you try to steal again during that at bat or is it just a new "roll of the dice" so to speak?

New roll of the dice. Your runner simply didn't think he could get a good enough jump (the opposing pitcher's Hold rating and your runner's Stealing ability factor into this).

I use Run & Hit 1 pitch mode. I have good success with fast runners so so with slow to mid level runners.

I do exactly what The Game said... this way you dont have to deal with the stealing issues of not going... they ALWAYS go when doing the run and hit mode. Plus I love to double steal too when I get the chance.

The reason I don't always use Run & Hit is that I don't like forcing the player to run. The only evidence I have is anecdotal, but I feel like I see a higher success rate when I let the player go on his own (barring the times he simply doesn't go).

I tend to have a really fast 10 (1-10) leadoff guy but my leadoff hitter on my old team leads the league all time in SB at 442 (6sns) and so far through 6 games my leadoff hitter is 5 for 5 in SB and my #2 hitter is 4 for 5. The 1st C opposing us was a 5 arm the 2nd an 8 arm. I just find it annoying to switch between 1 pitch and pitch-by-pitch just to steal bases. Run & Hit also works great to avoid GIDP and moving the runner from 1st to 3rd on a duck snort.

I use one pitch mode ... I have a player Billy Hamilton in whom I got lucky trading for him in season 2013 off the Reds. He is my speed demon. I got 2 seasons in a row of 100 steals and so far 4 seasons with 90 or more SB in a row and I am in 2018 now but he was injured for 5 weeks so that streak is in jepardy. with 6 weeks left. The best he did was 119 I think. Was trying hard to get him to break the 130 at the time. My top 2 in the lineup can run. I am picky as to who I have in my lineup and rarely sub my players.
