Ted Kazanski was a 19-year-old shortstop when he broke into the major leagues with three hits on June 25, 1953 with the
Philadelphia Phillies just 13 months after his high school graduation. He spent six years with the Phillies until
he was traded to the Milwaukee Braves during 1959 Spring Training, but he never played for the Braves and
the Phillies wound up being his only major league team (1953-1958). I saw one of his rare home runs (he hit just 14 HR lifetime)
during the second game of a doubleheader - an inside-the-park job off Jim Hearn, at The Polo Grounds, NYC versus
the NY Giants - during my first visit to a major league ballpark in September 1955.
After his playing career Kazanski worked in the Detroit Tigers organization and coached college baseball. Today he
lives in Michigan and is 84 years old

The family of Camille "Ozzie" Van Brabant notified me tonight that Ozzie passed away in Port Huron, Michigan on August 20, 2018 at age 91. Ozzie was born in Canada and pitched six years of pro baseball including stints with the 1954 Philadelphia Athletics and 1955 Kansas City Athletics. R.I.P. Ozzie.

Minnesota Twins Official Fantasy Camp

We have just received word that long time Twins Camp Pro Staff member and all around wonderful man, Lee Stange has lost his battle with cancer yesterday, September 21st. b He had been in hospice care for the past few weeks and Stan did have the opportunity to speak with Lee about 2 weeks ago. His spirit remained undaunted as he faced his toughest battle. Lee was an incredible treasure and anyone fortunate enough to listen in on his stories from baseball's golden age, was indeed fortunate. We wish to extend our heartfelt sympathies to his wife Barb and to all of his family and friends. Rest in Peace Lee. You will be missed.
