Yugoslavia and that's it on the matter, you also asked someone about risking your life for $30m, there are millions of people who risk their lives everyday for a whole lot less. Anyway I think the discussion as run its course, on my part it as.

Not something you want to talk about? Why? Pretty horrific?
Maybe that's why it's distasteful to joke about it Quote:

I linked this in some thread on this forum recently, but it applies here too... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xcYLVdfFro a lack of needing more isn't the same as a lack of wanting more ... sometimes it's just greed (which I suppose is at least close to the ego reason) and to be fair, there are obviously tons of other reasons too (leaving it to family as you said, the validation for a lifetime of work and effort to be named the highest paid at your profession, the desire to build capital to start a business afterward, maybe some want to be like Jordan and Jeter and try to be a team owner after they retire, etc) Last edited by ezpkns34; 12-14-2019 at 05:15 PM. I've never used the ignore button on anything, I figure everyone as a right to say what's on their mind if I agree with them or not. However some may have used it on me now and again

Revenue Sharing from National Media and some local per team ......
In Major League Baseball, 48% of local revenues are subject to revenue sharing and are distributed equally among all 30 teams, with each team receiving 3.3% of the total sum generated. As a result, in 2018, each team received $118 million from this pot. Teams also receive a share of national revenues, which were estimated to be $91 million per team, also in 2018.

Last year they said MLB owners/teams were in league to lower salaries by not signing players early, this season big contracts have been signed early just wondering what peoples takes on it was. Personally I think it was rubbish about owners trying to get players on the cheap.

Cleveland and Texas make a swap
Cleveland gives up Corey Cluber Texas gives up DeShields jr and Clase Clase is a super hard throwing reliever. DeShields is a fast OFer who has never hit. It's much less of a return for Kluber than would have been expected before his injury. And a light return for what even a 50% Kluber would be expected to produce going forward |

What is Arizona trying to do down there? I feel as though they don't have an idea. They don't want to give up but don't know if they should go for it.

In other words, say Cole helps them win a championship or two, or at least get close to it, in the next few years. The Yankees are paying for that not only in those years but in the remaining years of Cole's decline. Thus you cannot just look at the final couple of years of the contract and say "what a waste." The Yankees themselves may be viewing it in this manner.
