New OOTP 19 BETA Patch Available (Version 19.8.78)!

Hi folks!

Here's a new patch that will hopefully solve things for the folks who still have issues with lagging/freezing/crashing related to the issues introduced in patch 64. The early returns from the in-house beta testers are positive, so we wanted to give you a chance to try this out.

This is a beta patch so please only download it if you're currently having the problems described above or if you really want to try things out. Be warned that it could introduce some unexpected issues as it has not yet been fully tested.

If you're using the standalone (eSellerate) version of the game you can download the build directly here. Please note that this is a Windows only build though:

If you're on Steam, you'll have to activate the beta version through the Steam client. Directions on doing that follow:

Open Steam client -> Library
Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 19
Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
Click on the beta tab. Find the beta below and select it and enter the password when prompted

Name: beta_external
Password: Zhfw98zG678tffR87

Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.

Any trouble with those steps, please let me know. Please also let us know if this helps with the lagging/freezing problems or not.

Before Patch - In my online leagues, I would get constant crashes and frustrating not responding for 30 seconds at a time in roster transactions or by clicking on players for profile looks.

After Patch - AMD FX-4200 here, Been on it for over an hour and no crashes yet while performing the same task as mentioned above.

This seems to have done the trick. Great work guys!

OK, just wanted to report, I did have a crash during a game. It happened after a bench clearing brawl. Unclear if it's reproducible, but if it happens again, I'll get all the data I can to you.

This is pretty minor though. Mostly, things have been stable. After what I've been through, I'LL TAKE IT!

Of note, this build will somewhat be able to play with the previous 18.8 builds in online leagues, although I would highly suggest that when we do release this, all members of the online league be on the same versions. Basically, if you're not on this version, all-star bonuses won't work for you, and the only reason that I believe a file saved with .78 can be opened in .70 is probably due to a bug, so I wouldn't trust it.

tl;dr: Might work in online leagues, but if may not so be careful

Oh, I have seen this mentioned elsewhere before, but it seems to be extremely rare... I'll ask Matt to have a look

like a new update? also my game works perfectly good with the latest update non the fix update should I still get the fix patch update?

Yes, because there are a few other bug fixes in the patch than just for the AMD issues.

OK. It hasn’t happened since, so that’s a good thing. Let me know what else I can do to help you.

Compared to this beta, the new build fixes a small problem where some screens did not have a proper background image under some circumstances.
