How to download the update

So I keep getting a message telling me that the updated patch can be downloaded to go to OOTPdevelopments.com to download the link. I went to the site the problem is I can't find the link. Can someone please assist me with this?

The update is the full installer. You just reinstall over your current installation.

No

The only time you need to restart a season is if you want the roster updates.

Ok so just to make sure I have this right. I'm at work and won't be able to do this til I get home today.

But I go to the above link and click to download and it will overwrite my current copy and continue where I left off?

1. as long as you either save your "saved games" folder as Markus said (and i guess then re-import when you get the .37 patch installed.)

2. or if you have Windows - when you get to uninstall, the question is asked if you want to keep your saved games or not. I angsted over that, but went with keeping them, and when i reinstalled, everything was still there, except a couple of custom things i had added (such as the hints i'd typed in manually ....)

so think if you follow the link above step by step, you should be fine .... it worked well for me at least.

just to be safe, i DID copy and paste my saved games onto my external HD, but with option 2, it wasn't needed. (it also was pretty slow to copy but that's besides the point.)

Ok thank you. I'm not very computer savvy so I'm gonna give it a good shot and see what happens. I really appreciate all the help.

Weird... I've never backed up my save folder/files and everything works just fine. Might lose custom filters and such but those are easy enough to duplicate.

I think the 'back-up saved game files' was only for people who were rolling back from version .38 to .37.

Normally there is no need to do this.
