Timing of Coach Firings
I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but the timing of a few of the coaches that got axed in my fictional league seemed a bit weird. There were three instances that really caught my eye. In all three cases, each head coach had their teams on pace for 90 point seasons and were in the thick of the playoff hunt. They were all fired in late February and March. One team fired their head coach with 79 games into the season and the team had a record of 44-27-1-7. The owner did have low patience and low confidence.

In general it seems like coaches get fired too often. In my various ECHL games it seems like 1/3 of the coaches are fired after season #1.

It looks like there may be something odd going on with in-season coach firings specific to fictional games. We'll be taking a look at it.

In my game, Paul Maurice was fired and was hired the next day by another team that had just fired their coach.
It does seem that coaches are getting fired too often in season. But I'm not sure the actual statistics for coach firings in front of me. |
