The aughts ought to have ended a decade ago
What I take from the first 2 decades of sports is more of a mindset than a particular game or season or player. The proliferation of the All or Nothing mentality from front offices before the seasons even start, also known as tanking Yes, I'm sure there were instances before 2000 (Tim Duncan for instance), but it's more of an institutional plan teams approach with now which bothers the idealistic side of me, even if the rational side of me can understand the general idea behind it .... and why I find it easy to root against the teams who are blatantly, intentionally terrible while finding it noticeably easier to root for the ones who are just earnestly inept |
