Hot Fix

Did go ahead and reinstall to the update from May, and have had no problems at all with crashing. Hot fix you provided is a lot better, but still crashes my pc about every half hour to hour of simming. Guess I'll stick with the previous version.

That's definitely odd. Can you let us know your system specs, especially if it's a PC or Mac? Thanks!

Pc

It's definitely a pc. Have been running the previous version of OOTP from May for several hours now, and haven not crashed, so there is something there. Would've crashed within 1/2 an hour to an hour with the hot fix update.

What are you typically doing in-game when it crashes, just before the crash?

One suggestion we always make with this sort of issue is just to check and make sure your drivers are up to date, as that can sometimes be a cause for random crashing.

Whatever's going on is definitely something odd though, since if it was a patch specific problem, we'd surely be flooded with complaints.

Since we aren't that indicates that although the patch might be part of the cause, it's likely how the game is interacting with your system specifically that's causing issues, which will make things much harder to track down, unfortunately.

Thanks

Thanks for getting back to me. Typically, I am browsing the web and listening to music. I alternate between the game and my browser (Google Chrome) throughout much of the day. Using the previous version of OOTP, I've had no issues, either before or after the last update. Not sure what is causing this, but happy that, at least, the old one works!

Crackle

And, as I've mentioned in previous posts, there is a noticeable crackle that comes through my speakers right before it crashes...usually less than 30 seconds afterwards
