Pop-Up Windows Won't Go Away

Hello again,

I recently wrote a post on this forum about a glitch hurting my gameplay experience, which was eventually solved. But now, I have another one that is becoming another inconvenience. Essentially, in simple terms, in game pop-up windows sometimes don't go away when you click "Continue" or "OK" or even if I were to click "Cancel". The window comes up to confirm the action, and even if I click "Continue" or "Cancel", the pop-up stays on screen and I can no longer interact with the game. This happens at the draft when picking a player, when sending someone down or calling them up from the minors, or scratching/dressing a player, as examples, and at complete random. These are just examples of what has caused it to happen today. This is obviously, as you may imagine, very frustrating, at it essentially necessitates closing the game at that exact moment, and I often have not had an opportunity to save the game. It used to not happen much, but still would uncommonly, but is now happening seemingly every few minutes. I would say this renders the game unplayable. Sometimes I wonder if this is because I am so far into the future at this point, as the save file must be very large by now, but regardless of why it happens I hope a fix is possible and I can find it out ASAP. Thank you.

The size of the save file shouldn't affect the operation of the interface like that. Just in case, though, can you upload the save again, preferably as close as possible to a point where you had it occur, and I'll see if I get the same thing. And are you playing the Windows or Mac version, and what version is your operating system?

I'll reupload my file in the morning, but I'm on Windows, playing on Windows 10, Version 1803, Build 17134.765.Just for fun, it also says 4.00 GB of installed RAM, 3.45 GB usable.

It should be in the folder as "bruins 2037 draft". It happened more at the draft and in its aftermath, but it has been unpredictable too it seems and could happen at any time.

Ah, only 4 GB, that's probably it, I assumed you had more. The game will run with that amount, but between the memory requirements of a save that size (FHM5 with your save loaded uses a little under 2 GB) and what Windows 10 uses on its own, you're going to start to run into odd behaviour in the game as it grows, particularly if you have anything else open and/or the hard drive Windows is using for virtual memory isn't that fast and/or doesn't have much space available.

Any modern-start save will have some stability issues as it gets into an extremely high number of years played, but the exact definition of "extremely high" will vary by system, and with 4 GB you're hitting it around 20 seasons in. Your save runs with no problem on my desktop with 16 GB, even with a bunch of other memory-eating stuff open, but even 8 would probably keep it running happily up to any year you could conceivably play to (aside from just letting it run indefinitely in do-not-disturb mode.)
