Ok, here is the solution for many of you. That is to use the Friends list to get paired up to play with people you WANT to play with. This is an alternative to the goal of getting to perfect level just to see who is willing to spend the most money to win consistently there.
That is what "Our League" does --- see the other thread on this forum to find out about it. To qualify for "Our League" your team needs to be strictly FTP and only include historical players on your active roster (no LIVE players, future legends, or the new "player-of-the-month" cards). As we grow (we currently have 32 teams/players that go from Iron level to Diamond level) we will be playing each other more and more, which ensures that we are playing with people adopting the same rules we are. Furthermore, we keep records of each team's matchups with other "Our League" teams.

The funny thing is that one of the main reasons this thread exists is due to a team's actions that, among other things, include transitioning to a theme team league attempting to be held at lower levels. Trying to do as you suggest is contributing to the issue, not solving it.

Just an idea for those concerned about the PP being earned against "tankers". Why not give a percentage amount of points for achievements based on the point level average of the 25 man rosters? If you have a team full of 100's and play the all iron team, you might only get 25% (or whatever) of the points for achievements and vice versa. This gives incentive to build a "team" instead of just collecting all stars. This puts more incentive into strategy and cleverness. The whales might get less points this way, but as someone said earlier, the achievement points earned are laughable for the most part compared to the amount of money they throw into the game for PP.

thats an interesting idea, would want to re-baseline the values first so an average team in an average league gets the same amount but I can get behind some version of it

Sold off my entire Perfect Team and used the funds to purchase LIVE cards and play them week in and week out with the up and the down of the card. Here is what my guys were purchased for, first week or two after launch when IMO prices were pretty high vs what I got last week in the AH. I thought of selling off my team and starting fresh, I guess I need the OPs permission because his fun is what matters.

Yes and no. He could have edited team name and logo. It's a VERY small sample, but his starters are 0-8 combined and 3 of his relievers have 8+ ERAs and one 40+...Then again, his motives could be anywhere, maybe he moved up and then decided he'd make-over his team, maybe he wanted to see if he'd make some noise in the bulletin boards here.

No chance to see any of those players in the AS game, the leaders are all over 1.7 WAR and it's not even mid June.... (VS .6 WAR)
What I do wanna see is those players playing in the Iron League when they get there

If we get relegated to gold (likely) we will be playing all SILVER next week as the SILVER SURFERS. If we are relegated down to bronze/iron before the MLB theme league comes together I will definitely run all unsung Iron again and will let you know. |

Here's what I don't get. This guy has repeatedly said he's doing theme teams until he gets into Dishnet's MLB-team league (and players in that league are currently scattered throughout levels so it'll take time for them to settle at a level). You repeatedly ignore that and hint that he's taking it all the way to iron before putting top cards in to farm PP. What the heck? You don't have to like what's happening, but IMO he's given a perfectly reasonable explanation and there's no need for you to keep suggesting that he has some nefarious hidden agenda. |

The developers are not going to change the whole achievement PP game on everyone for the lunatic fringe concerned about one "tanker" in one of hundreds of leagues. Also below is why this idea is terrible for lack of a better word: I, not a whale in my first week of Perfect League, lost to a team a day ago with the same record as me (tied for 1st) but had a lot of bronze/silver relievers I've never heard of and bats like LaValliere, Pagnozzi, Apparicio, 69 Gwynn, Harry Walker, Willie McGee etc. I am all Gold and Diamond with a Perfect Trout so lets say he has 2/3 the overall ratings I do. So I lose to a team with a good strategy, same record, but 2/3 my overall average team rating and that means I only get 30 of 50pp for Leading Off In Style and 53 of 80pp for Corner Painter that game. No thanks. Gimme a break. Get it together people. Am I taking crazy pills dot gif? Also please do not respond, this thread being at the top of the PT forum list the last 48 hours is making my eye sockets sore from eye rolls.

What I've seen is you doing a lot of insinuating in the thread. Just chill, okay? If that's already happened and I've just missed it amidst all the shrill posts from everyone, my bad.
