In the top of the second, Campaneris put the Athletics on the board with an RBI single.

In the bottom of the second, Spencer delivered an RBI single to tie the game. Sundberg then grounded out to first, allowing Nelson to score from third to give the Rangers the lead.

After three: Texas 2 Oakland 1.

In the bottom of the fourth, a Sundberg single scored one.

After six: Texas 3 Oakland 1.

Jenkins led off the eighth by striking out Green for his 10th K of the game. But the very next batter, Fosse, hit a solo home run. With one out in the top of the eighth, Steve Foucault replaced Jenkins on the mound for the Rangers and struck out the next two batters to retire the side.

In the top of the ninth, the Athletics had runners at first and second with two out. Johnson singled to right but Burroughs threw Jackson out at home trying to score from second to end the game.

Final score: Texas 3 Oakland 2.

In the top of the first, Rudi hit a solo home run.

In the bottom of the first, the Rangers loaded the bases with one out. Harrah then drew a walk to tie the game. Tovar then drew a walk to give the Rangers the lead. Nelson then grounded back to Blue who threw home to get the force on Burroughs for the second out. Spencer then flew out to center to end the inning.

After three: Texas 2 Oakland 1.

In the top of the sixth, Jackson tied the game with a solo home run. Green would later bring one home with a single to give the Athletics the lead. Fosse followed with a two run triple. The next batter, North, got an RBI double. Nine men batted for Oakland in the inning.

After six: Oakland 6 Texas 2.

In the top of the seventh, the Athletics had runners at first and second with one out and Jim Merritt took the mound for the Rangers and kept the runners from scoring.

In the bottom of the eighth, Nelson scored from third when Sundberg hit into the 4-6-3. After a two out single, Rollie Fingers took the mound and got the final out of the inning.

Jackson picked up a two-run inside-the-park home run in the top of the fourth to put the Athletics on the board.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Rangers finally got a run when Nelson scored from third on a sacrifice fly by Sundberg. Randle followed up with a two-run homer to give the Rangers the lead. Hargrove also got an RBI single in the frame. Nine men batted for Texas in the inning.

Bando led off the top of the sixth with a home run.

In the bottom of the sixth, Spencer hit a two-run homer for the Rangers 10th hit of the game.

After six: Texas 6 Oakland 3.

In the top of the seventh, the Athletics loaded the bases with one out. Rudi grounded to first to bring home a run.

Back-to-back singles to leadoff the bottom of the seventh ended the day for Hunter and Darold Knowles took the mound for the Athletics and got out of the inning without giving up a run.

Campaneris singled in the top of the eighth to give the Athletics their 10th hit of the game. That brought Steve Foucault on to pitch for the Rangers with a runner at first and one out. Campaneris would be left stranded at first.

I did a Rangers rebuild back in OOTP11 I think. I think I made it from 72-75. It was a big challenge but fun.
