How good is Jurickson Profar?
I'm asking because I had a keeper league draft last night, and no one picked him up. He's on waivers til Monday.
I'm having a hard time deciding who to drop to pick him up but if he's going to awesome I shouldn't worry about it too much, right? |

Yep, Ortiz is a good candidate for the reason noted. I might dump Hardy instead unless you are ready desperate for homers. In a keeper league, I'd probably drop any of those guys except maybe Hosmer and Fowler.

Keeper league and nobody picked Profar?
How many can you keep from one year to another? Is there a minor laegue thing? Cause Profar has through the roof potential, but isn't likely to give you something this year.

Hmm interesting. I might rethink my strategy for my 25 man roster to see if I can stash him for a year. Dunno if he'd make it into my top 5 though.
I kept Felix Hernandez Zach Greinke Yoenis Cespedes Bryce Harper Carlos Gonzalez Gambled on drafting both Cespedes and Harper last year and it paid off bigtime. I'm guessing with a correctly built roster I could do the same with Profar.

I'm not too concerned about this year if getting him now pays off for future years. I put in the drop Ortiz, pick up Profar transaction. Now just have to keep my fingers crossed that he's on my roster tomorrow when waiver time is up. |

Profar will likely start the year in AAA. He's blocked by Andrus, who is a free agent in 2014 and represented by Boras. So there's every chance that the Rangers will move Andrus this year and hand Profar the SS job.

He is clearly the best player named "Jurickson" to ever play in MLB

And now the Rangers have extended Andrus in violation of most of Boras' principles, so the odds of Profar being in AAA all year just went up. By next year, if Profar isn't traded, he will move to second base and Kinsler will move to first or an outfield corner.

Well I think my keeper league fantasy team and Profar are parting ways this spring. So much for my brilliant pickup of 2013.

I would drop Dan Uggla, if I could I would drop him twice just to be safe.

Rangers and Yankees sleepers always a good gamble IMO, because of the stadiums and lots of chances for RBI's due to all their teammates playing in those stadiums as well.
But Rangers have to face Mariners, A's, and Angels pitching a lot... which is a downside. Also the Astros pitching is up and coming and huge stadium. |
