Its not the first American company to sponsor United's kits. AIG was a long time sponsor.

I'm going to rise up
Gonna kick a little ass
Gonna kick some ass in the USA
Gonna climb a mountain
Gonna sew a flag
Gonna fly on an eagle
I'm gonna kick some butt
I'm gonna drive a big truck
I'm gonna rule this world
I'm gonna kick some ass
I'm gonna rise up
I'm gonna kick a little ass
ROCK, FLAG AND EAGLLLLLLLLLE

True, but it's just weird you know?apple pie, chevrolet, the heartbeat of America and all that.
Guess it's a good sign though that GM is doing well enough to be able to afford this sponsorship deal.

Actually, maybe not:

Ironic, eh?

Sponsorship is just advertising. It doesn't mean the company is doing good or bad. Also I don't know why you think sports sponsorship has to be linked to the country of origin of a certain company. Do you find it weird for Toyota to be in NASCAR?

Good deal for Man U. Almost $600 million over 9 years.

I have no idea why the supporters trust is upset. They need this revenue to do battle with Man City who have almost unlimited funds now.

The Supporters' Trust isn't upset about the sponsorship. They are trying to use this as another chance to put pressure on the Glazers.

it's not about country of origin for the company. It's how GM and Chevrolet market themselves to the US. They stress and pride themselves on being American made, creating jobs, fueling the American economy. But yet they'll take their marketing and advertisement dollars to Europe instead of an arena or stadium naming deal here in the US.

Do they? That would be odd since a lot of GM models are made in Canada.

That aside, it's relevant to note that they own Opel, so advertising in Europe isn't wasted money.

In which way is selling more American cars in Europe not creating American jobs or fueling the American economy?!?!

You think Toyota selling more cars in the US is bad for Japan?

This shows a very poor understanding of how economy works. No matter where you sell automobiles, it is going to help the home company.
