Good thing is Hughes isn't another James Loney.
Not sure if he's ML ready yet. This was his first good start at AAA. Let him get a few more under his belt before throwing his feet into the fire.

I rather wait until 2008 just like everyone else in Yankeeland, but I still feel that Hughes would pitch well if he were promoted right now.

I don't think it's hard to argue that he's better than some of what the Yankees are forced to throw out there with their injuries.

On another note, Bruney is for real, huh? I was holding off on him thinking that maybe last year was a fluke. But, the big guy can throw. I like guys with his motion. It's so effortless, and the ball has this downward/arrow-like motion to the plate. It's pretty explosive, too. Looks like 98, but comes in at 94.

Pitching prospects have a different development curve than hitting prospects, and we never know how many pitches an arm has in it before the ticking bomb explodes. For these reasons, it may be unwise to leave a pitcher down on the farm when he's shown that he's ML ready.

Chase Wright is gonna stay up for another start. It will be on Sunday on national TV against Daisuke Matsuzaka and the Red Sox. Good luck Chase, you'll mos def need it.

Yeah, he's getting thrown to the wolves on that start. However, I'd rather Chase start that game then throwing it to Wang for his first start of the season.

The thing that I liked about Wright was that he did not look nervous and tentative. He brought it like he should. I loved it when his very first ML pitch was a strike, thrown confidently. He deserves this next start and, against Dice-K, guess where I will be on Sunday. (TV-wise, that is; cannot get into Fenway for sure.)

Even if he hits in October, so what. If he hasn't cured cancer by November, he's garbage.

I think Wright really doesn't need to be nervous. What does he have to lose? To ever stick with the Yankees, he has to outpitch guys like Clippard and Hughes and then the 10mill+ a year guys the Yankees sign every off-season. I'm glad he pitched well. It would be nice to a see a home grown guy do good. Maybe we can cut that Pavano bum now.

Because every time they are on Fox, mine gets pre-empted by the Cubs or White Sox

I didn't get Extra Innings this year because my "free time" is a heck of a lot less than it was last year. However, if I had time to watch baseball, I definately would have gotten it again. Even with all of these nationally televised games.

See this happens when you get engaged. You get less time doing what you love.

That wasn't clutch at all! It's only the 4th inning!
