Getting rid of "ghost players"
i do not want ghost players and actually found the place that addresses getting rid of ghost players but cannot seem to get rid of them.
Also i turned off Coaches and scouts and noticed that of 175 players in the minors about 170 were 1 star potential and actual. that seems crazy |

league setup->options tab->uncheck incomplete minors
What's wrong with the minors? This sounds normal to me when you have filled the league with fictional players. |

i have 1 prospect who is 3 stars and then a couple that are 2 and the rest (170) are all 1 stars. seems a little odd not to have some decent prospects but it may be normal.

Of those 170 players, you can reasonable expect about 20 of them to grow into ML-servicable quality, and maybe 1 will even become an all-star.

Is this an imported league or a new league in OOTP 2007?

I have tried everything i can think of to start out with incomplete minors and cannot get minors with rosters under 25 players. What is the trick? If the game starts and then u go to set up to check incomplete minors is that too late. If so what is the sequence of getting the minors w/o ghost players?

Markus i am sitting here with this issue of "ghost players" and at this point am just shaking my head.
Let me ask this. if i start a standard league will there automatically be 25 players at all levels and 50 at rookie league regardless of what i check? I am checking this both ways and trying it a different points in the creation and still have 25 or 50 players at all levels. i am not attempting to operate a historical league but rather a standard league w/o an inaugural draft. |

This does NOT apply to historical leagues though. They are only filled with players when you add minors to them and require full minor league rosters. |

Terminology may be at issue here. At least partially.
Playing the game with "Ghost" players means being able to run with only a few players in the minor leagues--pretty much like v5 and v6. With ghost players enabled, you can have three prospects in the minors, and the game will simulate the minors by grabbing a "ghost" player when it needs one. If you chose to not use "Ghost" players, the game will fill your minors with prospects, many of whom will not be particularly good players. Waltwa--when you said you wanted to get rid of ghost players, I'm thinking you really want to just start with an empty set of minors. Is that correct? |

Ghost Players
Where is the option to allow Ghost Players?

Not sure if this helps, but generally, ghost players were intended for use with historical leagues, because historical data often doesn't include solid minor league data.
Last year, the game required all roster spots to be filled. So, if you wanted to do a historical league WITH minors, you ended up with a handful of "real minor leaguers" (whatever was in your historical database), but the game had to fill all of the remaining slots with fictional players. In some cases, this would result in a "fake" player making it to the pros instead of a "real" player, which historical simmers didn't like. So, the whole point of ghost players is so that historical players can play without fictional minor leaguers. It's not really intended for use with standard or fictional leagues. As Markus mentioned, as soon as you start either of those, it will automatically fill all teams with fictional players. Hope this helps someone, somewhere. |

i assumed "block fictionals from the majors" was intended for the historical simmer, while "ghosts" were intended for fictional simmers that dont want to micromanage 150 players in their organization, 75 of which will never even sniff double A.
hope this helps someone, somewhere too

It certainly seems like available talent in the minors is always insufficient. I would expect far more two or two and half star guys.

Is there a way that fictional leagues *don't* automatically get filled when you start up the league?
