League View Senators - Ongoing F2P Theme Team
Introducing the - League View Senators F2P Theme Team
Forget the Washington Senators - this team has the TRUE Senators. Equal representation for all teams! Roster will be based on the 24 MLB teams in the league circa 1972 - and also tacking on a 25th spot for the Rockies/Marlins/DBacks/Rays/Blue Jays/Mariners wildcard. Cards selected will be a mix of live and historical cards as I see fit. Quote:
I won't be buying packs for this team, just spending earned PP on the AH to fit my structure. Will be using the free packs and entry pool period to get this team configured to meet my criteria, likely with mostly low-end cards. Plan is that, once I'm establishing,to check in quickly once a day to see how the team is doing and maybe do a bit of AH shopping based on the PP situation. Goal is to have fun building the team - shooting for some expensive cards - and winning is a plus if it happens. So I'm dreaming about McGwire for that Cardinals DH spot, and Clemens for the Red Sox SP. Ooh and Carlton for the Phillies SP. Now if I were to pull one of those cards tonight I would poop a brick! And also, I will certainly be open to community suggestions along the way for player adds! 1) Tigers ... (4) SP 2) Red Sox ... (2) SP 3) Orioles ... (17) 3B 4) Yankees ... (16) 2B 5) Indians ... My best pull on the starter+gold free packs was 89 Nick Madrigal White Sox future legend. But he's at 2B and doesn't fit my White Sox Catcher designation. Oh well, he should sell fairly high.

The inaugural team is ready for iron league entry! 7500+ PP in savings for the next theme team purchase ... I will probably save until I can add my first Diamond-level card.

Not good ... 65-88 in my first week in Iron. I'll certainly be staying in Iron. Just added 83 Johnny Mize tonight for 2000 PP as the Cardinals DH. So much for McGwire. Need to do something because the offense is anemic and needs to improve next week. |

Season 3 was a success for the Senators - got into the playoffs before succumbing to a better team in the Divisional round 3 games to 1. I did *not* get promoted to Bronze league level; only 6 teams moved up and since two lower percentage teams made it to conference championships I did qualify for top 6. Staying in Iron level.
The PP coffers held about 26k PP and I decided to upgrade 2 bullpen spots to improve the setup position. Prices out there seemed high and offense has no horrible holes so I decided to go this route for now - Welcome to the team. 82OVR Live Cody Allen LAA 77OVR 1979 HH Tekulve PIT Tekulve's baseball cards were always so photogenic so I had to get him. Also his movement is pretty high for OOTP so he should have staying power. |

Just added 77 CL/RP Steve Howe for the playoff run. I had no lefties in my bullpen so something had to be done!
Any player named after a Yes musician is okay in my book! Last edited by neugey; 04-19-2019 at 12:37 AM. |

Following a disappointing season in Iron and finishing under .500 and missing the playoffs, I've decided to dip into a bit of my PP (but not too much yet) and add another SP. Welcome to the team 88OVR Historic All Star Dallas Keuchel.

The Senators have just finished their most successful regular season to date ... 101 wins, their first division title and a league-leading 19-game winner in Mickey Lolich. Now onto the playoffs! Also ... 47k PP in the bank and counting ... possibly stashing for a peak card and waiting for the prices to come down.

The Senators just completed a 4-2 Iron series win with an 11th inning walk-off double by Leonys Martin and are awaiting their Iron rings,Wheaties box picture and trip to the White House! Feels good!

So far I'm an also-ran in Bronze level. Adding 75 CF Kenny Lofton to try to kick start the lineup (and the defense).

Floundering in bronze this season and in danger of relegation. Just spent 55k PP (nearly everything I had) and bought Peak Steve Carlton. Expecting him to save the day!

Still in Bronze level floating around the .500 mark and not making playoffs. But I just earned enough PP to buy 94 Rickey Henderson! Already cemented in at the leadoff spot.

My man Rickey this season - 1) hit for the cycle in a game, 2) had the first 20/20 season in my OOTP history and 3) led the Senators to a division title and playoff berth! Massive!

Carlton just pitched his first no-hitter a few days before the start of the playoffs and led the Senators to the division title.

Team is struggling at 36-44 ... Cubs C Contreras and Reds RP/OF Lorenzen have been added to try to improve things.
